What "really" happened to IC status? How did we turn into employees without benfits? I recall when IC was REALLY IC. I took a break and things had changed pretty drastically! We now are required to basically do "shift work," which I understand to a point, but it sure isn't the way it was!! I recall getting paid more because we did not get benefits, more for fast speakers and ESL--what happened to that?
I personally just dropped out for awhile, and a new offer came in out of blue from a resume months ago for 4 cpl on VR. This is with 10 years' experience. Now, once I file my own taxes, I feel I'm working for 2 if that! Wow, experience is really appreciated and taken into consideration isn't it? LOL
This is really so depressing that I'd rather start again in my 50's and go back to be certified in home health care. At least I'd have human interactions, a steady check, and maybe even the incentive to get back into nursing.
I'm really shying away from a job interview upcoming for IC MT yet again. Seems I'm promised this and that and nothing is ever what I'm promised once trained.
