online test. First failure ever! Waaaaah!

You know, I failed too and the quiz seemed so easy to me. What I am wondering is, at the end of this when it tells you that you failed it suggests Career Step training. I am wondering if it's sort of a gimmick for then to get people to enroll in the training.

I took the test too and was told I failed it. I have 13+ years typing transcription and STILL researched every answer, just to make sure. Better safe than sorry, and yet was told I failed and to enroll with Career Step. Spoke with another transcriptionist who too took the test and also has over 12 years experience and they too failed. Neither of us used macros. Nice bait and switch
I passed with no problem at all - no name

still waiting on the transcription results, but passed everything else so far.
good for you - it sounds

like an interesting job for sure.
I dont know about all that, but the test was tricky - no name

it had questions on there that do not even pertain to transcription. I did think that test was a little strange.
I worked for them for almost a year. sm - MT

I loved the work, the platform is so easy, and the people are wonderful. The test is a little different, but they are a great company to work for. I only left because it was my second job and I was just too tired to keep up with things anymore.

I have never taken a test where it suggested to enroll in Career Step. That is just too fishy.
I think the reason they suggest to enroll in - Career Step
[ In Reply To ..]
Is because Career Step seems to administer the testing platform or whatever for pretty much every single MTSO that I have tested for.
Perhaps they get the ability to test people without having to set up their own access and in return Career Step gets to hawk their school?
Most every test I have taken has been on that platform/thing of Career Step and even if you pass they ask if you want to train with them I believe.
I think they jump on those that fail with that because they feel they can get people when they feel incompetent, which is kind of low, but I guess they are trying to drum up business. When I failed one I just ignored that propaganda.
It seems like all these companies, most of them with their own IT departments, could bother to set up a simpler test of their own, but no, again, the MT is given the cheapest, most expedient (for them) option.
There is no reason in the world why they need extensive typing performed - 5 different documents transcribed, some really no different than others - to see how good you are. It should not take longer than 20 minutes to do one of these tests, yet again they know it is an employer's market and why should they care if it takes you 1-2 hours and then they never respond anyway? No skin off their nose.
It's not fishy - MT

It's not fishy. They just refer people to Career Step for training. A lot of companies do it. Most companies use their testing for "candidates". Not sure why you think it's "fishy".

well, it's fishy because there were too many MTs that didn't pass. I've honestly never been referred to Career Step like that. Just seems too coincidental to me.

I passed it and I have always received that if I failed a test by other companies before. Nothing coincidental about it. You must be a newbie and not tested too much. I've been doing this for years. Paranoid much?
I only see where 2 people failed. I passed. not many - no name
[ In Reply To ..]
people are going to post on here.. yahhh i passed the first 2 portions of the test. Not going to happen. 2 or 3 or even 5 people is not a lot of people to call too many. It was a hard test. They tested you on English. They probably require a high score like 99%. You did not pass so get over it...

Anyone Else Taken The Test For WordMed.Biz? Jul 08, 2013Has anyone else taken the test for WordMed.Biz? I'm curious to know if someone passes this very easy test and is given an interview. I've got over 25 years experience as a MT and took their very EASY test really quickly. Actually, I was surprised at how easy it was. Before going to the final part of the testing, I was informed I didn't pass the first section. Really???? I'm thinking it is just an excuse to get you to take their MT course. I've lost count ...

About WordMed.Biz? Aug 01, 2013What does anyone think about WordMed.Biz? I tried to apply but their skill assessments site has been disabled (found out by calling the technical). I left them a phone message, but no reply. Need to find a transcription service that has consistent work. Wordmed Biz - Has A Post Up Looking For Help But Oct 07, 2014first you're asked to register to test. You do so, you try to log in, and I was told I've already completed the test and to wait for further instructions or be contacted by a recruiter.

Online Applications May 14, 2011I just had to vent! I am SICK AND TIRED of companies (mostly hospitals) with these l-o-n-g applications asking you to document your whole life history. These are several pages long, and many times you are restricted to ANSWERS IN BOXES (drop-down menus) so can't enter free text. Finally, there is NO WAY TO SAVE IT! So you can get half or most of the way through and have to stop/pause and/or get stuck because of the dang drop-down stuff, when you can resume you h ...
Choosing An Online MT Course Jun 08, 2011Hi, I am considering an online MT course to get certified. I have been doing transcription for 6 1/2 years for a mental health agency. Wouldn't It Be Better To Take An Online Mar 11, 2014ICD-10 course rather than be required to stay with them for 2 additional years after the apprenticeship, working whatever shift they feel like sticking you with? How Difficult Is An Online MT School? Dec 23, 2009I'm seriously considering enrolling at one of the "top two" MT online schools. I'm good at English grammar, spelling, type over 100 wpm with 98% accuracy, a perfectionist, and am also very focused. I do have a full-time job, but can easily devote evenings and time on the weekends to complete the course. I'm up for a challenge, but after doing quite a bit of research, this sounds really difficult. Feedback please! ...
