someone who currently works for keystrokes - sm please

Can someone who currently works for keystrokes help me? I wonder what their platform is, how their accounts are and just in general what they are like to work for. I appreciate any help

I have only been with them since July though, but so far a pretty good company. They leave me alone to do my work and the mistakes I made regarding wrong doctor or site specifics, I know I have made them and noone to blame but myself, so I just sign my discipline form and go on trying not to do that again. Supervisors are super easy to reach also if I have a problem or question.

They use several platforms and it depends on the account you are on. I love my job and I have had more than enough work since I've been there. I've actually had OT offered numerous times in the last 6 months. The initial hiring process was slow going but after that, it has been great!

Does Shortcut work on those accounts at KS that use Meditech? - bon

Meditech has what they call "canned text" that has to be entered by someone (not the transcriptionist) and you will have to memorize their list of shortcuts. It is the worst transcription system ever. When I worked on it, they let us type the document in Word and copy it into Meditech, but it's very time consuming. This was a long time ago but unless they have upgraded it, no shortcuts.

Not true. Shorthand and Instant Text both work. There are two types of Meditech. - MeditechPro

Meditech Magic is like old WP5.1 and has a blue background.

Meditech Client uses Microsoft Word.

Both can be used with PC Shorthand and with Instant Text, but I don't think that Shortcut works with either of them.

In Departmental, which is where most of acute care is done for those hospitals that don't have an interface platform, you don't have any canned text. I think that is only in the Radiology Module.

MTs are paid by the minute converted to lines for total lines. From the last production scores they went out, it seems to be a very lucrative program with quotas easy to meet and exceed by this way of figuring lines. I was surprised.

Those that use Shorthand do best. It is inexpensive for a subscription (was $25 a year) and only $99 for a lifetime license.

I have heard that Shortcuts for Windows doesn't work on Meditech when connecting through Citrix connection. I have also heard that Shorthand will work with Meditech connecting through Citrix connection. It is Shorthand -- hands down :-)

My company of 11 years was bought out by Nuance. Not thrilled about this after all the negative comments on here. Starting in December we are going to their Web Clock for keeping time. Can anyone tell me how it works? Do we enter the hours worked at the end of the day or does it automatically do it for us? Our hospital is losing a lot of coders to services. I don't know which ones, might be the same, might be different. My question is, are these services kind of like MT services where you work for a national company and get a particular hospital to do their coding and get crappy benefits if any? Do they pay per chart? I have heard that some of these coders are making $5 or more an hour than at the hospital (which isn't hard since it pays for crap) but if you get ...
