anyone who currently works for SoftScript - ParisMT

I am wondering if anyone who currently works for, or has worked for, SoftScript can give me any information, pros and/or cons, on this Company. I currently have a job but am looking for steady workflow. I have an interview with SoftScript this week and do not want to leave my position unless it is for the better. Any input will be greatly appreciated. Please email me if you do not wish to post online.

Some of the things I am wondering about are:
Is the workflow steady?
Is the platform user friendly?
How do they treat their MTs?

It's a company where you like them or you don't. It's a fit for some but wasn't for me.

To answer your 3 questions:
1. Workflow. I ran out of work my FIRST DAY ON THE JOB, within my first couple of hours working!

2. Platform was easy, can't remember what it was, but it was word-based.

3. How they treat MTs? Like a number.

I only lasted 30 days. It was the only job I actually QUIT ever in my 20+ years. Way, way too many ESLs. Too many QA people doing QA all different ways. It will drive you crazy.

There is a reason why they are constantly advertising, and it's not because they are getting new accounts all the time.

Just my opinion to another MT, just trying to spare you from the headache!

I appreciate your honesty. I really want to make sure of any company before I just leap. I have a baby and bills to pay.

I work both jobs (usually try to work the new job part time) and see if the grass is truly greener or not.

My experience with SS is different than the other person, but then again I have only been there a couple of weeks. The platform is easy and I have plenty of work. In fact, there was overtime available for almost a week. As for being treated like a number, I do not feel that way. Everyone has been personable and addressed my individual needs, plus you are assigned a mentor for a month to help assist you.

I can only speak for myself but I have worked for them going on 8 months now and it has been a good fit for me. Very seldom do I run out of work and if I happen to it is never for long so workflow has never really been a problem. My paychecks are definitely better than they were when I worked for Spheris doing VR! The platform is very user-friendly and Word-based, which I love. As for the way they treat their MTs, I can only speak for myself but they have been great to work with. They take the time to tell us all thanks for our hard work and I definitely do not feel like i am "just a number." So far it has been nothing but a positive experience and plan on staying. Thanks so much for your response. I do not see much positive on this forum and was feeling discouraged about most companies, but I am starting to realize that there are a lot of good things, just not posted on here for whatever reason. I appreciate your input greatly!

AVOID THIS COMPANY!!! What a bunch of really unorganized and mismanaged people there. The owner and HR offered me a job (even in writing) then called me and rescinded it even before they got my overnight package. This all happened after stringing me along for a month.

Buyer beware.

When they count lines, do the VR lines count the same as the transcribed lines? Also ... are there ever chances to make a bonus or an incentive or maybe OT on certain accounts? My company of 11 years was bought out by Nuance. Not thrilled about this after all the negative comments on here. Starting in December we are going to their Web Clock for keeping time. Can anyone tell me how it works? Do we enter the hours worked at the end of the day or does it automatically do it for us?
