The haters come out in force always, but when I read the newsletter, I see how many of us have been with KS for 2, 3, 10 years. Only a few miserable ones, and they feel the need to be poisonous.

That was a high day, usually in the 1500's, but I had easy doctors today and the fingers were flying. I really still love transcribing, although so many on MTStars seem to hate it. It's been a good career for me, and it continues to pay my bills.

If you are not getting enough work for PTO, you need to talk to someone. I know they have some new accounts, and the account that I am on just bought another hospital which is being added to our work.

Radiology or Acute care? - No PTO in 1 year.

No PTO for me yet. Run out of work constantly. Why can't I get the nice job that I can do 2000 lines! I think that is impossible, if you ask me at any place now!!

To the poster who said "run" several times.....why do you say this? On what do you base your comments. For those of us interested in applying to KS for an MT position, you comment is of no help.....could you be more specific with facts about KS. Thank you very much. I am quite interested in KS for a future MT position.

Well, before I sign off this bashing session, and log onto my account at Keystrokes, I must post this reply for anyone considering KS. I love working for Keystrokes. Of couse, I did make more money as an employee at a local hospital and got lots of benefits and perks, but things, they are a-changing. I dont like the fact that companies pay less than hospitals but hey, if I was running a hospital or an MT company, I would try to undercut all the competition to the extent that I could and still maintain a staff of qualified, experienced MTs to do the job. Works for me......Keystrokes that is. And I am very happy with my account. Yes, it does have some difficult doctors, but I am up for the challend....and yes, there are days with low workload and sometimes no work, but check back later and there will be some, be flexible in your schedule and you will make money, not the BUNCH OF MONEY that you may be used to but it is possible to make money at KS, good money. No I am not management, no I am not a lead, no I am not someone's favorite, I AM JUST AN MT WHO WAS LAID OFF DUE TO LOCAL HOSPITAL OUTSOURCING TO INDIA....AND I DO NOT WANT TO MOVE TO INDIA....so, I am accepting what is available for now. Again, to those people considering a position with Keystrokes, take what you read here on this post (yes including my post) with a grain of salt. Talk to Keystrokes, ask questions, email those of us currently working at keystrokes. Sometimes, the persons who have left or been let go by Keystrokes are not the most openminded and may, I said may, give you a not so REAL OR TRUTHFUL description of their experience at Keystrokes, some folks do hold grudges. By the way, did you bashers know that you can be sued for bashing, it is called malicious intent, or even can be considered reputation attacking with no substantial evidence. Just saying.....be careful when bashing....

However, defamation of character is a serious moral issue. In my opinion, there is a difference between sharing information and bashing with "sour grapes" type posts. Where did this great information tool (MTstars) lose its way.....Like many posters have pointed out, it has become more of a bashing/venting place. Can we begin today with getting back to the real purpose of this forum.....to share helpful information regarding facts about transcription companies and stop sharing "sour grapes" type posts. Just my opinion.

Have done an archive search but looking for more current info from people currently working or just stopped working at Keystrokes. What happened years ago really doesn't concern me because we all know how fast it changes in this business. Need info on Freedom Type, Keystrokes or Diskriter. I live in Okla and worked for a local service until recently. They downsized and cut the transcription dept. I now have a job with Medquist but can't get any work through them. Like most, I need a paycheck, not just a job title. I'm looking for a good company to work for who is honest and provides a work load that is not constantly running out. It isn't easy to get off some of the spam and phone call lists when you click for more information about some of these courses. and QA dings me for one. Unbelievable. That's what it averages for 1400 lines a day full-time. Even with 3 cups of coffee and an office chair seat belt, it's no easy feat. Ninety-thousand keystrokes PER DAY. That's not including the ADT, the Internet look-ups, etc. Throw me a bone here, QA. How many keystrokes to you do, PERFECTLY?? ...
