Read the job opening for Keystrokes and also talked with the recruiter. Can anybody here who works(ed) for and Keystrokes give real, hands-on experience for working for them? I've had many instances where how it really is isn't how the recruiter said it would be and don't want to get burned again. I'd really like to know the good and bad about the company upfront before I decide whether or not to accept the job.

Please don't just reply just to tell me to search through old posts - I've already done it.

I have worked for them 3 years and I have done transcription at home for 16 years. They pay on time, offer some benefits even for part-time people, and have been helpful finding secondary accounts when it is slow. They have slow times, but there is always a feast and famine time in the transcription business. I'm very happy and think they are a good company.

Do they still use docqscribe? I had read that maybe they had lost the use of that sm - MQMT

KS doesn't take kindly to firing off a lot of blanks to QA without research through old records, so difficult to pick up speed as there is some repetition, but not enough to go anywhere quickly at first.

Great company to work for though. I've been very happy with them. More family oriented. People are very friendly and helpful.

I have 10 plus years experience, but I am brand new to the MTSO business and I have no idea how MTSOs work, but I know that at least on my account, we were given account specifics, but this is nowhere black and white. Oh, it says this, but there is an exception to it??? and we are supposed to know WHEN that exception applies? and then when you think it applies, you get marked off from one person, and not the other. I guess I am writing this after just looking at my QAs and I am going to pull my hair out. I guess that is all part of getting used to BOS as well, but docking things like you put a comma instead of starting a new sentence here... but then when you started a new sentence THERE instead of the comma, you are you in trouble as well.
Is it like this everywhere??? it seriously makes me want to scream...

Let me guess. You work for Acusis, right? - You just described their lame, daily rule changes.

So good to hear positive comments about an outsource company! Perfect timing as I have been accepted and have not yet committed to "yes." All of the negatives (and definitely justified), it is a breath of fresh air to hear from my peers, there are still some ethical companies out there who really put forth the attempt to keep their transcriptionists! Where would any of us be without communication! There are some real "dagger" companies lurking out there and KS doesn't appear to be in that category (thank God) and thanks to those of you who are coming forward and giving some positive feedback in your experience with Keystrokes !

and QA dings me for one. Unbelievable. That's what it averages for 1400 lines a day full-time. Even with 3 cups of coffee and an office chair seat belt, it's no easy feat. Ninety-thousand keystrokes PER DAY. That's not including the ADT, the Internet look-ups, etc. Throw me a bone here, QA. How many keystrokes to you do, PERFECTLY?? ...

How is it? The trainer says it is one of the easiest platforms to learn on if you've never done it. Said the threshold is set high at like 85% (not sure what that means) and it proves to be very lucrative for some. Anyone have any experience with it they could share? I'm a bit confused with Keystrokes. The ad they have placed here indicates wanting 40 people for new accounts, etc. However, I just received an email about job openings for only 2 very heavy ESL 1-9 shifts. I don't understand why they would have this ad and yet only be sending info about only the 2 jobs. I'm in their DATABASE and am sent these emails according to what opens up.
