Keystrokes info. - Kia

Hi, I have already read the posts of the cut in pay. Other than that, how is Keystrokes as far as having work available, management, QA, etc.? Thanks so much.
Heartless - "New KS" sucks

management. Don't even waste your time if you want any flexibility, especially if you work in HIM. Even many of the longtime KS MTs are leaving. Whether or not there is work available depends on whether or not you are a favorite, or who's good/bad side you are on. It's all high-school cattiness there.

I got sick to death of the favoritism and micromanagement, not to mention the pay cuts and blatant overstaffing of accounts. I was there for 7 years and left back in August. That's how bad it has gotten. Trust me. I was there for over half a decade and it is absolutely not the same company it used to be. Don't even waste your time. Just few years ago, Keystrokes was hands down one of the best companies to work for, but now it's just a place to avoid. There's a reason why they always have ads running lately.
Are you friends with or related to the owner or managers? Is your coordinator your cousin, sister-in-law or best friend? If you want work, one of those answers better be "yes". They have 1 good qa person, but she's buried in the rubble of being overwhelmed with worthless crap like clock watching and job assigning. So I wouldn't worry about failing a graded QA, if that's what you mean. And is 0.07 a line worth asking such deep questions over? I heard that is their new starting rate, and any seasoned MT with a few years̢۪ experience in her pocket should not have to work for that.
All of this sounds like Precyse, only they cut - sm

pay with sticking you on 6+ accounts at a time whether they're in your particular region or not. Nepotism runs rampant and favoritism is ignored and denied. Micromanagement is key; they want to know what you do every second of the day and you have to fill out a form for everything, which takes longer than doing whatever it was you wanted to do in the first place, i.e., if you want to get up to pee - fill out a form for how long you'll be away, when you left, when you'll be back, why you were not typing, and when you expect to make the time up.
Back to the topic.......sm - Carleen

You will never get an increase - you will not qualify for insurance because there will not be enough work. You cannot transcribe or work more than 40 hours, but if there is no work, you still have to be at your desk -unpaid - watching.
The whole working for free - emptyMT

That is what really makes me maddest about our business. You sit there for hours waiting for work, not getting paid, and then when it is there, you are over your 40 hours, they are down your throat about overtime, but at the same time they are screaming at your for turnaround... and again, for what amounts to these days about $10 an hour IF you are straight typing every single second of that hour and not editing. It's always ok with these companies if you don't work but are sitting there but God forbid you should not be sitting there and there is work. That's when they seem to care about you.
They have no sales team anymore either- fired her. - Jeffs Lover

Fired the sales lady a few months ago - how do they get more work? Also they are losing a huge account 3/31/13
You really have no clue. They fired ONE salesperson; that still leaves 4. SM - KS MT

That person was fired because she did not produce, like any salesperson would be. I heard that the owner did most of the sales for her anyway, at least she did when the two of them came to the hospital I used to work for.
The huge account 3/31 - how do you know? I am a little nervous now as I am on a huge account. What kind of account?
How do you know? - ExKS

I worked for KS for 7 years and even I didn't know that they had 4 more sales people. Also, how would you know that the owner did most of her sales? Regular MTs wouldn't be privy to that type of information. You must be a suit.
It's on the website and my manager talks a lot. Not a suit, wouldn't want to be. sm - Happy MT

I asked about sales at one point because it's something I have always wanted to do until I found out that there is a lot of travel involved.
If you had the same manager as me, you would know a lot too. I think she is lonely or something because she is hard to get off the phone when you talk to her.
How do you know? What account? Can you just give a hint as I am freaking out? nm - Paranoid

I really like my job at KS, but I don't want my account to go away? Is it ortho? Did they tell you?
Message for "paranoid" post - Jeffs Lover

join the Keystrokes Facebook page - it has been posted on there. If you cannot find it, ask your coordinator tomorrow. In KS' defense if they can find you another account to work on, they will. They do not want anybody to be without work.
Correction: They don't want their favorites being without work - ExKS
I saw that and that it went to an offshore company. I am on another account. sm - Paranoid

I know that CS is the coordinator for ortho and makes sure that we have enough work. I was thinking it was something that just happened when I read your post.
My biggest fear is that they will sell to Medquist/MModal. I've been through that twice and do not want to repeat it. I am pretty paranoid about that but hopefully it won't happen.
It was announced about a week ago - ask CS about it tomorrow. - Jeffs Lover
I read about it on FB and asked her about it, but it was not my account. sm - Paranoid

She told me which one it was, and I am on another ortho account, also large. I have worked in a hospital doing all work types and can always do that but prefer ortho.
Glad to hear your account is still there! :) - Jeffs Lover

the big account is for STD/HCA in Austin that was acquired with purchase of MTS of Texas.
MTS and Keystrokes are still separate companies even though the same person owns them. sm - MTS MT
[ In Reply To ..]
I am on the STC/HCA account and it was only lost because it is going to VR and the docs will be editing their own work. I wish them well because most of them are HORRIBLE.
I do path, too, and that is not going away.
I thought that MTS and Keystrokes were going to merge, but it has not happened yet. We are definitely kept separate from the KS MT's and do not get the same things that they do.
STD has been saying that they are leaving for 2 years; we'll see if it really happens. I doubt it will.

Have done an archive search but looking for more current info from people currently working or just stopped working at Keystrokes. I was hoping someone who works for either of these 2 companies can please honestly tell me how these companies are and if they enjoy working there. Any pros and cons you have is definitely appreciated. Thanks in advance to any and all who reply to my post. ...

Need info on Freedom Type, Keystrokes or Diskriter. I live in Okla and worked for a local service until recently. They downsized and cut the transcription dept. I now have a job with Medquist but can't get any work through them. Like most, I need a paycheck, not just a job title. I'm looking for a good company to work for who is honest and provides a work load that is not constantly running out. I've seen some good reviews on these 3 companies but any current info or opinion ...
Need to know any info ASAP on I think its called Global Info Systems or something like that out of Texas. Lots of clinic work, but low low line rate offered. It isn't easy to get off some of the spam and phone call lists when you click for more information about some of these courses. I've found that for me, it isn't worth it to get that information if I am giving up my privacy. Some of these people are relentless! You can't get away from them once they get your information.
There is one in particular that makes sure you hear from them every day in one form or another. They become your best friend, even if you weren't lookin ...
I am testing with GIS this evening, does anyone have any information on this company.
I am currently working with TTS, they do not even pay 4 CPL for editing. I feel like this business has become a legalized form of slavery. The only business where with over 10 years of experience, your pay goes down. ...

Read the job opening for Keystrokes and also talked with the recruiter. Can anybody here who works(ed) for and Keystrokes give real, hands-on experience for working for them? I've had many instances where how it really is isn't how the recruiter said it would be and don't want to get burned again. I'd really like to know the good and bad about the company upfront before I decide whether or not to accept the job.
Please don't ...

and QA dings me for one. Unbelievable. That's what it averages for 1400 lines a day full-time. Even with 3 cups of coffee and an office chair seat belt, it's no easy feat. Ninety-thousand keystrokes PER DAY. That's not including the ADT, the Internet look-ups, etc. Throw me a bone here, QA.
How many keystrokes to you do, PERFECTLY?? ...
Just wondering about OSI and Keystrokes. I recently have applied to both of these and looks like I could be hired by either one (have already done the testing). Could anyway tell me how they are to work for. Do they do voice recognition? And anyone know their pay rates? ...
