I am happy at Keystrokes and can add some things to the above post.
I agree that the payroll issues are frustrating and happen about once a year. However, they are never more than a day or so and I have learned to adjust my payments to make sure that there is no issue. I also have learned this with banks as they make mistakes also, but much worse. In August, my bank posted my mortgage payment twice (on automatic payment), which I could not afford. It took until LAST WEEK to get it back in my account.
Here are some facts about Keystrokes:
Not everyone makes 8cpl. I make 9.5 cpl, after the pay cut. The pay cut was 4% and their pay is still higher than most of the other MTSOs. I know that their VR pay is higher than most, although I do not use it yet (and hope not to any time soon).
Not all accounts are overstaffed, although I do hear that some are. I think that TAT demands from customers drive this. I am not making an excuse for them, I just feel that it is happening everywhere. My account has a good schedule, and I get my lines in.
On some of the accounts, the leads do QA as part of their job. For others, there are QA people that do QA. I think it depends on the account.
It is true about schedule inflexibility on the account I am on, but I have few friends that work on other accounts, mostly ortho and clinic, that have flexibility. Not in radiology or HIM though.
The managers are not all or even mostly relatives of the owner. There are probably 25 managers and secretary-like people, not including lead transcriptionists. I know that the owner and her husband are there, her sister, his sister and her sister-in-law. No other family, not even close to "most" managers. I find the managers to be knowledgeable and competent, and they do seem to be getting better people in those positions. That is not to say that a few of the people who left were bad; I have not found any truly bad managers there in several years. I also believe the Lead Transcriptionists are the best, but I may be biased because I am one
They do not send any work offshore, which is important to me.
They keep their accounts, with very few leaving during the years I have been there, and they get new accounts on a steady basis. I know of at least 10-15 big accounts that they have had for more than 8 years, including the one that I am on.
I love, love, love the Chartnet platform, which is owned by Keystrokes.
The insurance is HORRIBLY expensive, but I think that is going to be everywhere now. The newest one is not expensive but it doesn't cover anything. I couldn't afford the other one but am fortunate to be covered under my husband's policy at his job. It is an exaggeration to say that NO ONE could afford the insurance. From what I was told, over 100 people have and had the insurance but they need to have over 250 on it to qualify for a great insurance like Blue Shield. I do have the vision and dental.
The benefits are good. I like having 401k, and PTO is important to me.
Most of all, they are not Medquist. I hope that they never sell to them.
This is just my opinion: I think that the people who were or are not happy at KS are very vocal and then there are happy people who come on and gush on and on, which is just as bad. No company is perfect including KS, but when looking at what else is out there, I realize that I have it pretty good. I do not discount that others may not have had a good experience, but mine has been good.
