I've heard how great Transcend is so I applied, in addition to 8-10 other companies. I had heard such great things and such rave reviews from Transcend employees they were a company I wanted to hear back from most. Two weeks later still not a word, and I had already tested for most of the other companies and had been given offers. Because I was most interested in Transcend, I decided to write the recruiter using the email address I found on the website. Even after a few weeks, I wrote to say I was still interested if they still needed someone.
The recruiter did respond to my note to say they were very interested in me and invited me to take the test. Our conversations afterward were that I did exceptionally well on the test and that they were very interested in me. After finally being given an offer, every single step has been initiated by me. I found out only by my own questioning that I hadn't filled out all the employee paperwork by accident and that I was missing some information. You would've thought someone in Human Resources would've let me know they were missing important pieces of information from me.
Then, I was supposed to start my training on December 20 (just next Tuesday) and that I would be hearing from some one to install my software. As of last Wednesday I still hadn't gotten that call so I wrote AGAIN to find out about my software installation. I was told someone would be calling me to install. Later that afternoon, a tech support person did write me an email about installing the software and asked when would be a good time for me. I wrote back and suggested Friday at 9:00 (yesterday) - I never heard another word. No response, no tech support, no software installation, and no phone call.
So now, I'm supposed to start working for Transcend on Tuesday and I still have no software installation and I have literally chased them down and initiated every step of the way. So far, they haven't done one thing to help me get on board and this is becoming a huge red flag for me. I do have another job so it's not like I'm desperate for this one but there is a lot to be said about professionalism. I'm not sure what the big "hoopla" is about this company, so far my experience with them has been far less than stellar and if they are so difficult to work with even before I start, what would it be like as an employee? I'm guessing from their lack of interest and communication that they are just not that into me, LOL. But why hire me in the first place?
