Superior Global Solutions--can someone email plz? - MTstumpy

Posted: Apr 13, 2010

I was asked by the recruiter to test for them, but I am not sure I want to waste my time.  Can someone email me personally and give me some insight into this company.

Do they pay on time?  Can I make line count?  how is QA?  Do they hold checks? etc?

Thanks

I sent you an email... - RubySoho

It wasn't anything particularly earthshattering, so I'll just post my unique experience here so anyone else curious can take from it what they may. I believe I've posted about it before, so my apologies if it's redundant to another poster.

I was dealing with "K" in their recruitment department and received a firm offer for a particular account and happily accepted it. Pay was decent, recruiter very nice, my choice of shift, and I even ordered a new computer to make sure all went well with their platform. I forwarded the computer information to their IT peeps to make sure it meant their requirements, had all my bases covered and was just waiting to get my computer to start up immediately.

Well, all was well, or so I thought, on my end. I had updated K just the day before to let her know my computer was to be delivered the next day and she emailed back to thank me for the update and how anxious they were.

My computer arrived as scheduled the next day and I was SO excited. I immediately emailed K to tell her it had arrived and to please let me know what the step was.

Silence.

No response.

Nada.

Nil.

TOTALLY FREAKING DISAPPEARED ON ME.

My calls were routed to voicemail with a return call never coming. My emails went unresponded to. I tried going to the website and emailing from there, thinking maybe something was "wrong" on my end and my messages weren't getting through.

On day #3 of this sudden vanishing act, I was called and offered another position, equally great at the same time and with a great reputation, and I grabbed it and started immediately. I simply couldn't afford to put any faith into Superior that it was merely some "glitch" (which I don't believe but was trying to find some way to rationalize their behavior), and I needed to be working, not sitting around scratching my head.

Honestly, Stumpy, weirdest thing I've EVER experienced, and I'd warn any MT to be VERY, VERY careful dealing with them. You have your paperwork, you have your emails, you have their supposed excitement about you joining their "team," and *BOOM* they just disappear like that, without rhyme, reason or explanation.

I wish I could say great things about them and their pay and how they treat their employees, but honestly...Just knowing how perplexed and confused this company had me for 3 days, I'd never recommend them to anyone. The whole scenario bumped the term "flaky" to an entirely different level for me.

I lucked out and pretty much got the MT job of my dreams, as the other job I took worked out so perfectly. I love the account, I have tons of work, a great manager who, even though she's in another state, makes me feel she is right along side of me, and I'm sure it was all fate that Superior DID flake on me and I was able to get this other gig instead.

But, bottom line, if you go with them, DO NOT RELAX until you're officially working. After my experience, I wouldn't trust Superior on any level. I would advise to not give up a job you currently have to accept an offer from Superior. Make sure you have everything nailed down that can be nailed...but then again, I had it nailed down and they still managed to pull their disappearing act.

Totally classless, totally tacky, totally unprofessional, and totally unacceptable treatment of a human being.

Good luck, stumpy, and keep us updated! ~hugs~
Thank you RubySoho - Mtstumpy

I got the welcome to their company letter and I am speaking with "K". I sent in my computer specs and we will see, but rest assured, I am an old pro at this game and have another job set to go. Thank you so much!!!!
Yep.. common theme there. The recruiter is a total flake - JMO

Luckily, I did not waste too much time on them but had my experience with flaky K too. They were hiring IMMEDIATELY and I needed a job ASAP so I applied. She told me that needed someone who could start yesterday basically and said my resume looked perfect. I had everything they were looking for. Then asked if I could hurry and do testing for her, which I immediately did since time was of the essence and she needed to get someone hired. The testing I was easy so I figured I had it hands down. Then, guess what, NOTHING..NADA.. NO KISS OFF, THANKS BUT NO THANKS. NO RESPONSE. You think as a "professional" (I use this term lightly) she could have just emailed back and told me that they were no longer interested, I could go kick rocks..whatever. something.. I even bothered trying to email her several times asking for some common courtesy but she has none. No class. I would never apply to them again if I was living in a ditch.

I am also curious. Do they pay on time? Will I make enough in 40 hours a week to survive off of? Do they run out of work?
You can email me if you don't want to post it here.

Maybe I was an isolated incident, maybe not, just read it and take from it what you will. I'm very protective of my sister and brother MTs and I just want you all to be aware of what COULD happen if you accept an offer. Good luck to you!

In the year 2009 - from January 5 to Thanksgiving, I made $8000. They don't give you lines or work so they can avoid paying taxes and they can avoid putting you on the insurance they offer. Then, when you apply for other work and end up interviewing with Superior subcontractors, Superior will not give you on a log-on to work for subcontractors who have more work than they can handle. You cannot change companies. They refuse to pay unemployment whatsoever....and yet they won't allow you to make enough to support yourself. Management is never available and if you call them, they get rude. I would avoid this company at all cost.

SUPERIOR GLOBAL SOLUTIONS

I worked about 3-4 weeks for SGS.  The people were really really nice.  The pay was on time.  The problem lies with too many Q.A. people and all having different opinions and no one agreeing on the same thing.  They nick-picked me to pieces.  I had a job come up today and it was a STAT.  I had no idea it was stat.  I was in Q.A. being checked for everything, so I was doing my normal be careful speed and they said hurry it up.  So, I did and then they would not let me have the line count ...

Superior Global Solutions..anyone QA For Them?
Jan 30, 2011

I have been looking for an hourly QA job for a while now and realizing that I made 18,000 last year with a good education and lots of experience really put the emphasis on how much I want to go hourly.  I am (I think) good at what I do and pride myself on accuracy.  Editing offshore work on production pay isn't working for me at my current position because the reports are a mess and take FOREVER.  At any rate, I've sent out about 8 resumes so far in the last 3 weeks with ...

This post is dated 11/3/10 just so we are clear. I would like to say that I currently work for Superior Global and I LOVE IT. My Experience With Superior Global Solutions
Dec 19, 2011

To sum it up, I just got back from the unemployment office. But for more details of it, here ya go.   I had just become certified and was notified of a paid 90-day internship with Superior Global Solutions (SGS). I quickly accepted the offer given that so many people I know have such a hard time finding work in their field. This internship popped up a week after becoming certified. I just wanted experience more than anything. I went through the 90-day internship with SGS and was really ...

Superior Global Solutions - Passed Their Tests
Mar 15, 2011

Passed their tests.  They wrote me a congratulatory email and a phone call that told me I passed.  Told me I needed Word 2003 (do you know how HARD it is to get Word 2003 anymore?).  Cost me $140.00 but I got it.  Sent in computer specifications, passed.  Gave former employer 5 days notice (SGS wouldn't hold my new job for 2 weeks, gave me only 5 days).  Received paperwork in email in the morning.  By 2 PM, received phone call, "we are withdrawing our job offer".  When I could get ...

Recently Interviewed With Superior Global Solutions
Jun 13, 2013

I recently interviewed for this company. Spoke with a recruiter and hiring manager. They were offering 2nd and 3rd shifts. They provide 12 PTO days per year to be used after the first 3 months, 401 K, and benefits. The accounts they offered me were 100% domestic; however, they do off-shore some of their other accounts. Both gals seemed very nice, but the pay is very low. They pay 0.38 cpl for VR edited lines and 0.83 cpl for transcribed lines with 90% of their work being VR editing. How can one ...
