Apparently I am probably with one of the "sister" companies in this transition. Like you guys, I am trying to weigh out my options here. I'm reading the comments about the offer from Mercedes. Does anyone know if RecordsOne is offering pretty much the same offer?

I feel like if the "sister" company keeps me onboard, to go on the other accounts they have, are they really able to "absorb" another MT. I feel like the relative you let sleep on the couch just because he's a relative.

Going from a small company back to the corporation environment . . . that sure is a biggie. I am a sucker for new projects, though! That pay is scary, "tho fr" as my kids say!

Anybody else going through this dilemma this weekend or has had similar experiences. This is a first for me. Like you guys, my income is pretty important around here.

You should have received an email from the sisters about what will happen on the RecordsOne side of the split.

It has been months since work has been available on a consistent basis.

Attempting to work at different hours throughout a 24-hour period and jumping to various accounts still has not yielded full-time work. I am talking about real money-making work, not the kind of hours spent sitting and clicking the â��next jobâ�� button only to see from account to account the message â��no jobs available.â�� Disheartening and exhausting.

If there is not enough work to go around now, how can others be absorbed onto existing accounts?

Of course, as we all know the good of the MT is not usually considered in planning, only TAT, so the decision-makers may not agree and the jobs could be slimmer than ever after October 1.

We can only hope new accounts are available quickly for all who want to stay with RecordsOne and those who are on accounts that stayed but need more work.

KS - are you currently with OTI? - This change pertains to current OTIers

President of OTI formed a new company, Mercedes. The other half of OTI is becoming part of RecordsOne. Mercedes is offering 6.5cpl. OTI (soon to be part of RecordsOne) is keeping our pay rate at what we currently make (they pay more than Mercedes).

I do not know what it's currently like to work for Records One, but those of us fortunate enough to not have lost our accounts to Mercedes should still be working at the same rate of pay as we were making with OTI (that's what we have been told).

If you're not currently with OTI, I don't think this transition would apply to your situation.

If you're currently with RecordsOne, I don't think anything would change for you either. Just my guess.

Buns - I feel your frustration. The constant refreshing and seeing the NJA is beyond old. It can only get better or worse from here. My resume is out regardless of what happens. Someone had mentioned a one-two punch possibility a few days ago, and we can never be too safe. It's a sad time, but we've known that something has been up for awhile and now I think we finally have our answers.

No. I'm with one of the BS sister companies, and I'm starting to feel a "little rumbling" under my feet. Some changes are happening, I can smell 'em.

I thought you were referring to the actual sisters who run the half of OTI that is becoming partners with RecordsOne.

The workflow issues noted in my post are related to current OTI accounts. I know nothing about work availability at RecordsOne.

That's okay. I appreciate all your help. The account I am on, I believe, is going to be going to ROne, pretty sure. If I were to get invited to go along with the account, just wondering what my options are if I went to ROne with the account. But, it looks to me that if an account were to go to BOne, it would get spread out thinly among other hard-working MTs.

Has anyone else with RecordsOne had practically NO work since 10/1? Realizing that half of the accounts went with MTI on that date, I suspect the remaining accounts with RO must be getting spread out among the MTs who stayed with RO and lost their accounts to MTI. It will probably take months for RO to build up their account base again..... time to look for another company to work for. ...

The problem I'm having is that in Bayscribe under the Reports Summary tab (not the Review tab), I no longer have the Review link next to the patient names. Previously, I was able to go to Reports Summary, to a transcribed report, and click on the word Review next to patient name - and that report then opened as a Bayscribe report where I could see what I typed but could click on the audio link to relisten. What happens now is that there is no review link next to the patient name ...

Looking at their home page, they seem to be promoting VR as well. My memory is that Landmark has a (relatively) good reputation. I decided to send them the contract e-mail back stating I would not be accepting and why - that with 20 years experience, I will quit the industry before going that low and that there are still other jobs out there willing to pay more (even if it is only for 6 months to a year that they told me it would last). I listened to the Mercedes town hall. What did you think? They did say VBC was coming. Does this sound like Bayscribe to you? They said VBC was coming, but rate of pay would not change. On reading the posts below, if an MT makes 8 cpl and pay is cut down to 6.5 cpl, that is an approximately 20% pay cut. Then, going from a 65-character line with spaces to VBC (a 65-character line without spaces), that is an approximately 30% pay cut. So, 20% plus 30% equals an overall 50% pay cut. Can that possibly be correct? ...

I have received an offer from this company and she said it paid 0.065 cpl straight transcription. Well, I start reading over the new hire paperwork and it says pay is 0.065 VBC. So, I am not working for somewhere if they don't pay spaces. I email her and say I am no longer interested.
