To those with questions regarding working for Precyse I can answer you.  Don't do it.  We were just informed that we now MUST make at least 260 LPH (previously was 240) OR ELSE.  That's for ASR.  The straight typing minimum line rate has gone up also---and those are few and far between plus usually only the very worst reports come in as regular transcription.  The sound quality is terrible.  A lot of the jobs go to India.  You only get credited for time that you're playing the dictation back or typing (they know exactly how long you're not actually "doing something" on the computer).  Oh, and did I mention the NJA on a regular basis?  Which is the reason I have time to be on MTStars right now.  I've been with Precyse close to a decade.  Why do I stay if it's so bad, you ask?  Because when I read the posts on here everything else sounds just as bad if not worse!

They are not meeting the qualifications because if you areu experienced they have to pay you more than they want to pay. They are hiring newbies and paying them 3-4 cpl an hour..could you live on that? I make only a few cents more and am not making it now.

Yes, they just raised the lph requirements and took away bonus pay and are watching us like hawks. They know when you are in and out of the chair, 50% of the audio quality is horrendous, don't send more than 7% of your work to QA, but don't DARE get a critical error either. They state now that 80% of their MTs ALREADY meet the 260 lph, so the other 20% they are undoubtedly seeking to eliminate since we have lost so many domestic transcription clients to EMR, outsourcing, and the client insisting on discounted rates for domestic transcription.

However, they are hoping we quit with the horrendous working environment so they don't have to lay us off and pay unemployment. I feel the same as Moose....why am I still there? I read all the other posts and you are all in the same boat, just a different page or different version of the same substandard working conditions.

This career field is on its death bed. I just hope Johnna Shook and all the AS at Precyse have their Mercedes payments caught up because their MTs are barely getting by. Chris Powell and the senior staff should be ashamed they run such a company. And those silly Town Hall meetings. Give me a break!!!

Effectively immediately they no longer pay the production bonus. I was not aware they had a shift differential? I have been there 2-3 years and work 2nd and 3rd shift and have never received one. I also knew of no quarterly reimbursement for ISP
Get ahold of your manager or HR, 2nd and - 3rd shift had a differential. sm

It comes out to about 1 cpl increase. There was also a differential for working weekends. However, if you work 2nd or 3rd shift and a weekend, you only get one differential, not both. They always said they were going to do away with the internet reimbursement so evidently they have, unless you got grandfathered in for it. If they hem and haw around about the differentials, flat out ask them when they stopped and if they're still in effect, why aren't you getting it.

No differentials, no production bonuses...they state they are looking into something down the road in "2015" along the line of incentives...but I would say they perk you have is simply having your job and getting your paycheck on time. This industry is on its deathbed, at least the transcription side of it is.

about 6-7 years ago brought in upper management rejects from MQ and started to slide. Then Chris Powell came and at his first town hall meeting declared that they were putting all their focus on coding and the IT side of the company, and in the last 10 seconds of the 2-hour call, said thanks to the MTs for the great job we did, after cracking jokes with Sharon Fremer and the other 2 upper management ding-a-lings during the whole call who thought he was so funny. They took your incentives and differentials away yet made a $5 million profit last year (I hope you got that email about profits that he mistakenly sent out then tried to retract). Yep, MT is on its way to extinction and Precyse has no problem undermining its employees who are keeping Powell and his cohorts in crime in their leather chairs and high tax brackets. Even Jeff Levitt was a nice guy for the first 5 or 6 years, then the work started changing and disappearing and the transparency and open door policy for emails and contacting upper management went down the drain, the door closed, and the chain of command got real secretive and protective. Their vision and value is making money any way they can and stepping on anybody to get what they want. I hope they at least let you keep your current line rates for a while, and it will be interesting to see what excuse, if any, they give when they start lowering that too.

I am new to VR and was wondering something.....How many of you actually go through and listen to the whole report and how many of you fix the errors you see, sign it off and go on?  I am just looking at the high lines counts that you guys are getting per hour and am wondering if some of you are not listening to the whole report as that may take more time?  I know that doesn't sound good, but just looking for honest answers here. When Dr. dictates a sentence in the middle of a paragraph that goes like this: Eyes normal vision. Cardiac no carotid bruits. Cardiac regular rate and rhthym. Ears normal hearing. For the last couple of weeks, I've been sending out resumes and also frequently checking job sites such as indeed.com and simplyhired.com. So much of what's out there is really looking for recent experience, although it's not actually stated in the ad. Okay, that's the story, now here's the question ... If so many are unhappy doing MT, most importantly because of the lousy pay, why not work at temporary jobs? The pay has to be much better than what you're current ...

I tried to apply for an MT job with Precyse last night, but was given a message that they aren't "hiring in my area."  Has anybody else run into this?  I figure any area in the US is good since most of us work from home, am I wrong?  I do live in Alaska, but last time I checked we were still part of the country. For MT Week last week we got Sonic Rocks which are testicle-shaped shiny black magnets.  HR just sent around a warning that they're very strong magnets and to not keep them anywhere near the computer or anything that stores info magnetically because people are accidentally erasing their hard drives with these stupid things.  Wonder how many new computers that's gonna cost... ...
