Wow, I was seeing that a person mentioned the new Amphion ad today down below on mtjobs.com and sorry to hear you run out of work. Are you happy otherwise with them? That person asked about them.

I asked for a different account a few months back and was moved a week later. From what I was told by my lead, there are a lot of accounts with too much work right now and a few new accounts starting that need MT's. You should call the office if your lead isn't helping you get enough work.

KS isn't perfect, but running out of work is not a problem that many have. You need to ask for more.

The secondary account that they put me IS ALSO OVERSTAFFED!! I let them know that, and nothing has been done.

At this point I have to conclude that ALL of their accounts are overstaffed. Just read the posts on this board -- excepting KS management's posts, of course.

I'm working O/T this weekend because our account is so understaffed. I was in the same position a few months ago and I bugged and bugged until I got another account. Contact the operations manager - she will hook you up with more more!

Amphion is great to work for. They are getting new accounts. Key is you have to make 22,000 lines a payperiod VR minimum. They give you 3 payperiods to get there or you get to hit the road.

You can't make money at Amphion. They make it totally impossible.

I was offered 4 cpl for VR just a month ago - s/m

Straight transcription was 8 cpl with a half cent bonus for the hours worked in the evening and at night.

VR was 4 cpl no matter what the straight CPL was. I was told about 80% VR and 20% straight was average on the account.

I ended up somewhere else.

They seemed very nice, though.

I've been with Amphion for just over a year FT and have not made the 12,000 line minimum yet, and have not heard a peep about it. My understanding is FT needs at least 10,000 lines per PP to keep FT status, insurance, PTO, and 401k. Even with 2 accounts and FT hours I'm at 11,000 plus. I have never gotten a warning, phone call, nothing about not making line count minimum of 12,000 which is what I was told upon hire.

Did they change it?

Hi, I am new to the independent contractor thing, but shouldn't a company that has "hired" you as an independent contrator have your SS and a 1099 filled out by you? Just wondering as it seems to me this is necessary and since it is not being done, it makes me wonder about this company that much more, espcially since others have stated they have not been paid by this company. I guess if they are not planning on paying me they don't need a 1099 or SS# huh? ...

WTF is going on? I am no longer an MT, but I still care about a lot of people who are still TRYING to work at the Q. I want to work a part time job to supplement my other part time job at Nuance because sometimes there is no work. I see an opening at TTS but when reviewing posts about TTS it sounds like a bad place to work with incompetent recruiters and managers. It seems 95% of the posts are bad regarding TTS. some part-timers anyway, why not offer weekends to part-timers and offer some Mon-Fri shifts for the experienced full-time MTs you're trying to get..... That's about the only way you're going to get many experienced quality MTs. And there are always plenty of MTs looking for part-time weekend work as a 2nd job. ...
