Message to Transcend - MT4decades

I would like to know why MTSOs, specifically Transcend, post ads when they don't bother to contact the qualified people who apply. They make you jump through the questionnaire and written test hoops and then ignore. What a waste of time.

Don't worry - you may be saving yourself some grief - I am speaking from experience. Count yourself lucky and find another company that you just may like a lot better.

And dontcha know, 2 hours of work is about what I am getting each day!! I wonder if they saw an MTSO newbie (home from the hospital) and wanted to grab me before my eyes were exposed to any negative reviews about the company. If I'd had a few more days, and a few more companies to look at, I would not have gone with them.

I don't know about anyone else, but when I was hired by MDI about six years ago, and recently (under Transcend) when I trained on another account, I was given five reports at a time to transcribe, until they could be QA'd and then I could do another five reports. Perhaps that accounts for the two hours per day of work. It only lasted a couple of days. (Maybe QA is too busy, which wouldn't be fair, but could be a reason.)

Your post describes my experience with Transtech, so I guess Transcend is not alone with this modus operandi. Transtech responded to my resume, suggested that I take the test, which I did. Then, they went silent. They didn't even have the common courtesy to respond to my emails with "the position is filled" or "we don't want you." I'm sure I passed the test just fine; they probably just found someone else to fill the position and then discarded me like old garbage.

So, it seems that Transcend is just one example of what's going on in many MTSOs.

I'm just wondering when was the last time any of us took a moment and researched outside of this forum to get a better idea of what is happening with the MT industry? Did anyone else get the message from Massanotti? What do you think? Also, I went to medquist.com and was struck by the fact that they are marketing front-end dictation systems with SpeechQ, thereby eliminating transcriptionists altogether! I am not surprised, any way to get us out of the picture will make them more money. It just seems odd that they would tell us on one hand that they value us and then on the other try to get rid of us altogether.... ...
