Keystrokes late pay - UpsetMT

Really???? 3 days late on pay? How are we supposed to take care of our financial responsiblities now? It has been my experience in the past that when this happens, the company is usually a goner. So, Keystrokes, are you a goner? Do we need to look for other jobs, or will you not tell us and will we be out of work and out of pay and on Welfare?

I think it's a goner. I'm turning in my notice. They could have at least told us earlier instead of the day before pay was due. I had already set up my payments to come out of my online banking. I will have overdraft charges as I sure can't cover these.

their last-minute notice of late payment. (I pay my bills in good faith and on time, why shouldn't they?) On that bill would be the notation that a copy had been sent to my state's labor comission, as well as an attorney.

I emailed and asked. I hope they straighten this out soon as I have never had these problems with them and really like working there. I called today and asked to talk to the accountant about something else, and she was really upset. She said she was having technical problems that were making her hair out. Now I know why.

I emailed the person in accounting about my pay stub last week, and she told me that they are having too many problems with their accounting system but can't go back because of how much time has gone into this, it sounds like several months. Then this came out today and I emailed as directed because I wanted to know if it really was going to be the 3rd. The answer I received said, "Yes, it will be the 3rd if not sooner. We continue to have problems with our new accounting software, not the software itself, but the setup by the company that sold it to us. They are causing havoc on our end, and it's not fair to any of us. We keep being told that it's this or that and won't repeat but the issues keep compounding and there is no resolution from our vendor. I literally have people in tears on this end in my accounting department, worried that they are going to lose their jobs over this, but even more concerned about all of our employees and how it affects everyone. We have been dealing with this for over 15 months, one thing after another with them, although most has been invisible to everyone outside of the accounting department. What's particularly frustrating is that it is not is not the software, it's the setup and integration. We are demanding action from them and will follow it through until fixed." It was signed by the CEO and also had a few other things in there, asking me questions about my accounts and if I have enough work.
I think they really do care, but I hope this is the last of the problems. I am tempted to go back to paper checks.

I really do believe that it's nothing more than a problem with their accounting software. Keystrokes is an amazing company to work for and I'm not at all worried. They have always been great at taking care of any problems that arise. They really do care about their employees. This is just a bump in the road and then everything will be fine!

I know that they have been having all kinds of issues with their accounting software because I had to call them a couple of weeks ago because I hadn't received my last few pay stubs and they told me that they were having problems with it and were working on the issue. Once this is resolved, I'm pretty confident that this won't happen again, at least I hope.

Everyone has computer issues every now and then, but some might raise the red flag when a company has ongoing trouble with any software system, regardless of accounting, etc. As I understand it, notice was sent out late in the afternoon, so either this just occured or they did not want to tell you until the 11th hour. If this problem has been ongoing, they should have had the foresight to see this one coming. As the Grinch would say, And I quote

This is not the first time. Late pay when holidays fall on a Monday. It takes 1 or 2 after holiday to get paid. Other companies pay before the holiday. This is 4 or 5 times already.

the potential to have a late check if their computer system is down due to problems, weather, etc. They let you know the check would be late. Don't jump to conclusions that they have financial problems.

In this day and age of computer technology, etc, there really is no excuse as far as I'm concerned for these payroll issues. I have never had anything like this happen anywhere I have worked except at Keystrokes, and I'm not a newbie, not new to transcription, or new to working. If Keystrokes would stop shopping around for the cheapest fly by night companies to handle their payroll/accounting business they wouldn't have these darn problems, but they're trying to save a buck at the expense of the employee once again, and we get what they pay for or in this case, do not get or paychecks on time---again! Caveat emptor. Look at the paystubs we got in the mail a few weeks ago? Seriously? Anyone could have prepared those at home in MS Word. And if they had thought about their MTs at all, they should have transferred MT payroll to their office account (if they even have it on deposit to transfer), pulled out their office checkbook and issued manual checks to each MT and sent them Fedex. They knew about these problems well before Monday, so they should have been proactive. Actions speak volumes.

They'd still be typing in the Fed Ex labels and writing the checks.
I did talk to them. They did not go cheap; they went with a huge product and have had problems with the implementation for many months.
By the way, I was told that checks will be there tomorrow not the 3rd.

Lee stated they have 500 employees, not a 1000, and I'm sure they knew of the delay before yesterday afternoon. Two times ago when this happened, they wired the money to everyone's account. They should have done it this time too.
There is no excuse for having payroll late this many times. None!

Not sure if you are KS MT or not, but as of this writing this Wed a.m., my check had not shown up, so I am still looking at the 3rd. Maybe some of the other KS MT will get on the 2nd, but not me, not as of yet.

I've been trying to stay positive, but I am right at my wits end with these payroll issues. It has become an ongoing issue. There is absolutely zero excuse for it at this point, and for us to find out about this as last minute as we did is just plain tacky and makes the whole situation even worse. Maybe if this was the first time this happened, it wouldn't be as big of a deal and everyone would be a bit more understanding of the situation, but this same payroll problem occurred only a few months ago and we were paid two days late, and it happened last year. I'm sorry, but this just isn't right. I have next to no food in my house right now and was going to go grocery shopping today, but guess what? I can't. Again. Today was also supposed to be my bill paying day, but I can't. I don't have my check. Again. I know that every company has issues and glitches and no one is perfect, but come on. This is getting old fast. The company I worked for before I came to Keystrokes had a similar payroll issue where direct deposits weren't going to go through in time, but you know what? They were proactive about it and had paper checks sent next day Fed-Ex so that everyone would still get paid in time. Why can't Keystrokes do something like that???

So all MTs out here ranting and raving about their ex-employers, think about what was worse - you couldn't get your way, you either hate communication or you are mad because there is no communiction, but you got paid on time every time - keep moving from company to company and you find one you like but you don't get paid - grow up - this is not a perfect world and I doubt all your anger is validated - but keep leaving good companies because of your stubborness and you might as well find a new profession. No company is perfect - so what, if you have a job these days with a steady paycheck you are lucky!

You ask what will be next? If I were to guess, I would say this company is either on the selling block or considering a merger......or maybe even a bankruptcy or some other financial shenanigans. I do not work for them, never have, and now never will, based on what I have seen here. This is irresponsibility at its highest. Sorry you guys have to put up with this baloney sausage.

Yes, every company can make a mistake, but this is about the 3rd time recently. Also, they sent nasty emails out saying don't be late with your time counts and in the next breath, oh by the way, your not getting paid...

I've never had a check late in 10 years. I've worked for 3 different companies. Before being an MT, I worked for 20+ years outside at 2 different companies. I have never had a late check.
No, not every company has the potential for late checks. There needs to be a backup plan in place. I'm not saying they have financial problems - I would have no way of knowing. I think it comes down to simply just poor management.

When any company cannot pay its employees, it is obviously anyone's right to be suspicious of money problems, which I believe is the case for KS. I've heard so many excuses as to why this is happening which quite frankly doesn't make sense at all. It's not a benefit to get paid. We provide a service and we should get paid on time....period! I bet I know who did get paid!

No one is going to believe this, especially those at Keystrokes. I've read the posts from their MTs over the years, and their MTs are bright and talented. They would not work for a company for free - they are much smarter than that.

There is no way that anyone with even half an ounce of common sense would continue to work if they weren't getting paid. Your fictional post is beyond uncalled for and way out of line. Yes, Keystrokes has had some issues with their accounting software recently, but there has NEVER EVER been a time when we have not gotten paid. In fact, they even covered my overdraft charges for me the last time this happened. You need to stop slandering the company, especially one who cares about their employees like KS does. If you used to work at Keystrokes and it didn't work out for you for whatever reason, you need to get over it and move on. Don't you have better things to do with your time than making up outrageous lies? You, my friend, are nothing but a troll, and everyone here knows it.

I agree - I've sent two emails regarding this and received a prompt reply to each one from LEE!! I've been an MT for almost 20 years. This is a just a glitch, nothing more. KS is constantly taking on more facilities. I doubt there is anything else out there to surpass them. I'm sticking with her no matter what.
