for some help yesterday and got nothing but garbled answers. I asked how to do something and got part of an answer but then told she did not remember how to do the rest of the steps. I can understand not knowing how to do something, but at least refer me to someone who does know how. This person was definitely not nice and thought it was very funny that I was having so much trouble with the system. The attitude was the worst I have ever encountered. These are the issues that are going to be the death of Transcend. I know now not to ever ask a question again. I do not like to be ridiculed because I do not know something.

I've had similar experiences at 2 other MTSOs - maybe it is normal

Spheris - got that all the time, with most questions I asked. When they weren't ignoring me completely.

Webmedx - got that from the IT desk until I finally announced to them and my supervisor that I was done calling them for any issue at all.

Instructed to call Webmedx tec support and was subjected to the rudest, most condescending young man it has ever been my misfortune to speak to. Unprofessional people like this do great harm to their company's reputation.

to the readme file, which I have read me 500 times. I had a horrible account at first, almost all ESL with lengthy reports. After a couple of days THEY decided learning new software, style and doing ESLs was too much and transferred me to an easier account. My new QA person is very nice and helpful and patient, don't know who my supervisor is yet. I do Bayscribe. Is BeyondTXT the speech recognition platform? Not making much money now, hopefully will get better. I also work for MQ, and even though I make a lot more money, I like Transcend better.

Right now, I am doing straight typing on it. They said they were going to give us some time to get used to the platform before they switched us to speech wreck. My primary account (that I've been working for over a year) migrated from a different platform (DEP, you'll know that one well if you work for the Q) just last week, and the first couple of days were pretty hairy. At least the dictators were familiar! But now I've mostly got the hang of the thing, and I really LIKE it. Much better than DEP, in fact.

Glad to hear you've got a good patient QA person. I have been very fortunate to have those as well.

BeyondTXT has different typing modes, one is B-mode, which is basically typing, but headers, etc populate in the report once report is sent, E-mode/edit mode/VR, and T-mode, which is straight typing - you put all headers/subheaders in, etc.

Training has been horrible at the two services I went to. Impossible - to get a straight answer. sm

Not only do we have to work practically for free, we have to figure out how to do the ##$@ job without decent training. Don't the companies understand this impacts their bottom line, too?

I work on BeyondTXT and actually like it. Once you get used to I think you will agree, just hang in there. But the training was quick and had to look at my cheat sheets a lot. Unfortunately my ONLY acct at the moment is on the typing platform, so when and if I ever get more work and it comes through in E/B modes I might as well be a beginner once again. On the other hand I am not complaining about typing mode as you can go faster and make more money when the work is there.

Just read the MQ Central news about the pilot program for a new position called Region Team Lead (RTL). I'm already confused enough, I don't need a new acronym. They said the CTL would now be doing 100% QA and transcription. It didn't really specify who will be doing PTO requests, etc. (unless I overlooked it) I'm glad I already requested Christmas off and it was granted! Thanks CTL! I'll miss you! ...

it's just not working out for me there. I would rather have an IC position. I have an interview with another company. If I get it good, if not I will go substitute teach at the school...would prob make more money. This fall I will be going back to college to get a BS in biology. Are there any Transcend MTs who can tell me what their BeyondText platform is like? Is it productive? User friendly? Easy or hard to make your line counts? Also, from what I've read their platform seems to be a mix of typing and ASR. Is it mostly all one or the other, or is it a mix of the two?
