These are not MT. I did some work for Casting and People, but no longer fits the criteria I look for. Have heard good things about Allegis, and REV seems to be a beginners choice for getting into GT, but I don't do work for either. You can also try looking on craiglist in your area.

IC - jobs

Don't know if you want FT or PT but I am a PT IC. I work for AssistMed doing straight typing. Pay is 7 cents a line but it works for me right now. No benefits or perks but the people there are nice and there is ALWAYS work. I am now on SS, have two previous pensions also from places I worked at in the past, so my PT job keeps me up there paywise in addition to all that. I don't need health insurance any more because I am now on Medicare also.

no disrespect, but I don't understand why someone would "need" an IC job. I can see why an employee job would be necessary if benefits are needed. Can someone explain? Sorry to be so clueless.

Maybe the OP has a FT job, but wants to supplement. - her income. SM

So an IC job would help her make extra money without being bound as an employee.

I myself have a FT MT job, working in the office, paid hourly. They don't offer us incentive pay and will not authorize OT, so I've been looking for an IC job where I can come home every evening and type for a few hours and make some extra money. It seems most IC jobs advertised want the IC to commit to not just to how much work, but an actual 8 hour shift which negates the whole reason for being an IC...ya know, setting your own hours, working when you want, and just working within the confines of TAT rather than punching a time clock.

Just read the MQ Central news about the pilot program for a new position called Region Team Lead (RTL). I'm already confused enough, I don't need a new acronym. They said the CTL would now be doing 100% QA and transcription. It didn't really specify who will be doing PTO requests, etc. (unless I overlooked it) I'm glad I already requested Christmas off and it was granted! Thanks CTL! I'll miss you! ...

it's just not working out for me there. I would rather have an IC position. I have an interview with another company. If I get it good, if not I will go substitute teach at the school...would prob make more money. This fall I will be going back to college to get a BS in biology.
