Does anyone have any current information on AssistMed, the good, bad and ugly, why you quit or are still working there, etc.

Run as fast as you can. Unrealistic expectations and if you ever volunteer to work extra or over, they'll never let you go. Nasty things were said about my manager, too.

I have only worked there a month and first check was supposed to be yesterday. It is still not in there as of today. I have emailed the acct manager. Will keep you posted.

they were always good at paying, unless there was a problem with the bank acct or routing number you provided for direct deposit. your a/m should be able to find out that info. if the direct deposit was set up too late for the pay period, your first pay may be as a check. watch your mail, also. Never had a problem with them for paying, but did not like some of their other practices and left after 8 years of being with them. good luck.

I have worked for AssistMed for 3 years. I have never had any problems with management or payroll. My account manager and supervisor have always treated me with respect, and they are always available. I like this company because I am never harassed or bombarded with emails. There is always plenty of work on the account I am on. If work is low on one account, they offer work on other accounts.

I had a much different experience than that mentioned above. I worked there for 8 years due to a buyout. I had three different acct managers, with the last coming from the Q and treating her accounts and employees/ICs the same as if she were still at the Q. Things went downhill. overhired on every account she had. work is pooled with cherry picking rampant. Yes, you were given several accounts, but the same was true of all of them....not enough work. emails and IMs left unanswered for days, if ever answered at all. snippy and rude replies when received. office politics being played... if they did not like you....which was often the case, you were a victim of the games. there is an 1100 line per day minimum for FT. If they did not like you, you were never able to achieve the 1100 per day requirment, then subject to termination if you didn't. one big bunch of BS as far as I was concerned. 90% VR on hospital accounts, never the same dictator twice. also 90% esl. If you ever did get too productive on an account, they took you off of it and put you on another account where you would not be. start pay is 7 cpl, although some have been getting 8 cpl. QA is inconsistent and next to nonexistant. They lose accounts constantly due to poor quality....but pay is on time, mostly, although the way their proprietary system counts lines is in question as to accuracy. not to the MTs favor either. I would not recommend this company to anyone, much less even consider going back. They are no better than Nuance or M*Modal, as far as I am concerned. Just my take on things. Different people, different experiences, but the one above is the ONLY one I ever heard with a POSITIVE response. questionable, at that.

I worked there for a while due to a buyout. I was QAing work done in India, getting it up to acceptable standards, for 3 or 4 cents a line; I don't remember. I quit when they failed to give me any work for 3 weeks without a word from anyone and no response from anyone I tried to contact. They didn't reply until I sent the email stating my resignation.

Anon, if I had the experience you had, I would be saying the same things you are and would be out the door. I worked for another company where exactly that went on. I am just saying that I have not had that experience here. I have the same accounts, the same doctors, and I do straight trans and no VR. I have to say that I am happy that I am on the team I am on and not the one you were on. I hate it when anyone has to go through that unprofessional BS.

what they offer in terms of compensation with all the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the QA/MT positions.  When you read it, it sounds like the person/persons they are looking for would bring a lot of experience and talent to their company.  I wonder if the pay rate would come close to minimum wage considering all the variables involved, as we all know.  Anyone work there as an editor/MT?  I would love to know.  ...

Assistmed, Disorganized And Unclear

Was offered a management position with Assistmed for an extremely low salary (well below industry standard).  There was no organization.  Duties were "assumed" with no job description that was suitable.  The account manager I was working for literally "dropped off the face of the Earth" after I had 5 days on the job. The HR rep subsequently managed the account and had no idea how to manage. Was subsequently ask to "move to prodution" which my wrists don't allow ...
