Well, you are probably going to get responses both positive and negative like every other company these days. I have been working at AssistMed for 4 years. What I like about this company is that I am left alone to do my work. I am never harassed by my supervisor or manager. When I have had an issue with a report, it was taken care of very promptly. I have never had issues with not meeting line count requirements. You are assigned a few different accounts with the same dictators so it is very easy to become familiar with your accounts. In the 4 years that I have been here, I have only had an issue with payroll twice, and both times it was immediately addressed and taken care of very promptly. There is always work available, so if you wanted more accounts, there are plenty to go around. They use their own platform which is very easy to learn. Pay is by direct deposit twice a month. I cannot speak for the SR end of it because I only do straight transcription. I am not in management. I am just an MT, and I like where I work. Best of luck with your job search!

thanks for your reply. Sounds like a decent place. I think the pay is low though, but does have some positives listed there.

ever get a raise so do not even expect it or ask for it, because it will not happen. I worked there for 8 years and it slowly degraded into an M*Modal lookalike. The accounts are pooled, so expect lots of cherry picken'. believe me, the girls who have been there the longest surely know how to work it. When a more difficult dictator comes up, they go work on their other accounts until the difficult dictator is gone, then they come back and go like lightening speed through the good ones, wait for the longer length ones, leaving you with the bad dictators and short one sentence ones. Their counting system skims lines more than you will ever know. They have lots and lots of ESL and very difficult ones on top of that. Yes, they leave you alone. They do not care about quality or anything else. The supervisor I had was not very communicative. If I had a question, if I ever received a response at all, it would be several days later. maybe. It is a very cliquish place. If you get on someone's bad side, you will be on the sol list. forever. It's not all that pleasant a place to work. The aggravation, cherry pickin', and frustration with others being allowed to do whatever they want when they want and the hammer coming down on you, led me to quit. My insides are much more balanced now. But...give it a try....you may like it. oh, and work was not all that plentiful either. If you ask for another account, you are also expected to take a cut in pay, and that is the truth!

Well, that certainly sheds some light on the bad part of the company. Wouldn't doubt every bit of it is true. Always good to hear the negative cause there is lots of negative out there anymore. Thanks for the information.

Well, what it means, Rocky, is that medical transcription is going downhill and a majority of comments on this board are negative comments due to the nature of the industry going downhill with lower pay, crappy treatment, etc. That's what I mean.

OK..... It's an orthopedic chart note. Patient has a chief complaint of hip pain. Dictated: He has a negative [s/l fair, fairs, varus?] sign, a negative fabere sign. It doesn't sound like fadir; I'm not hearing that "d." I already had to leave two medication blanks and hate to leave another one for an orthopedic sign that I feel like I should know! Thank you in advance for your help and ideas! ...
