Assistmed, disorganized and unclear - Gail

Was offered a management position with Assistmed for an extremely low salary (well below industry standard). There was no organization. Duties were "assumed" with no job description that was suitable. The account manager I was working for literally "dropped off the face of the Earth" after I had 5 days on the job. The HR rep subsequently managed the account and had no idea how to manage. Was subsequently ask to "move to prodution" which my wrists don't allow anymore. Run, don't walk. Companies continue to let us down as we try to find stable jobs with stable companies. Very glad to be out of that situation and remain hopeful there are companies that actually value MTs/editors/managers. Does anyone know of one?

during training? I can understand being disorganized, but how do you get hired for a job with no job description? I'm sorry this happened to you. Unfortunately, this industry is becoming nothing more than a minimum wage sweat shop. Gone are the days that companies actually cared. It's all about TAT and each company undercutting the other price-wise in who gets the account.

We get a new insurance company as of 7/1. Yippee - it costs more for everything but that makes no difference to the suits who pull in the big bucks. But they could have at least planned ahead and made sure our insurance cards got here by 7/1 so we do not have to go in and print one out on a piece of paper because they could not get their act together. what they offer in terms of compensation with all the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the QA/MT positions. When you read it, it sounds like the person/persons they are looking for would bring a lot of experience and talent to their company.
