How are the QA audits going at TT? Who's left? - looking again

Since September, they've been looking for a total of 76 MTs. Are the audits over for another month or so and how many are gone over those audits? Any long term TTers left?

I haven't seen anything posted on this board since the beginning of October. I remember when someone was sued over a post and was wondering who won that case?

Is TT still a good place to work?

I would think that the majority of the MTs who were caught up in the audit got their noses out of joint simply because they thought their work was "perfect" and beyond reproach. Everyone makes mistakes...learn from them and become a better MT or move on. What's wrong with any MTSO expecting quality work? I'd love to hear from some of those who left due to their audits.

I've worked at TT for almost 2 years and I have no idea what this "audit" discussion is about. I'm assuming I don't know what it's about because it apparently doesn't affect me, but could someone clue me in? I feel so out of the loop; I didn't even know anything was going on, lol!

my audits have been just under 98.5%, and apparently if my next audit isn't at 98.5 I will be let go. I understand they want quality work, but the problem I have is that I get different answers from QA and management on how to do things. One person says one thing and the next person says something totally different. Sometimes I don't even get an answer. Not sure if I will have a job next month or not.

It's definitely time to grab the ball here. - (Do not go gently into that good night.)

Document all interactions, including recounting all phone calls, in follow-up e-mails, copying both parties, with scrupulously courteous and earnest questions. Keep personal copies on your own computer. Tack down those answers! Work with all your notes on a pad beside you. You know how to get 99.5 to 100%. Do it. Best wishes.

I'm a current TTer but not necessarily long-term. Like the poster below, I haven't heard/seen a word about these audits apparently going on. Is it only on a particular account for an unhappy client? I know (at least for my account) when I have had to look at previous reports, I've been appalled at the number of glaring errors on reports that obviously weren't edited appropriately and literally cringed in my seat. I'm talking about really obvious medication errors, formatting errors, lists incorrectly numbered, etc. One could tell at a glance these errors were the result of reports not being properly edited and instead just hurriedly uploaded to boost the MTs line count.

Regarding the previous poster and the lawsuit, I do have to say that, while I defend her right to post her own PERSONAL experience and opinions, as I recall she far overstepped that boundary and included what she claimed to be "factual" information in many posts that were, in fact, grossly untrue. She led other posters to believe she had "inside" information when she clearly did not. I believe the only reason TT took legal steps was their concern that this poster would dissuade good MTs from applying for positions, in that she made them sound almost like some fly-by-night operation that had no accounts of their own. I don't know what the outcome of the lawsuit was or if that poster still comes to these forums. She might be here under another name and just keeping mum about TT.

Anyway, sorry to ramble, but, yes, I most definitely do consider TT a good (great) place to work. I'm on a fantastic account with a dependable backup account if work on my primary runs out (which is rare), have an awesome account manager(s), am left alone to do my work, and have never been treated with anything other than respect as an MT and a human being. I would (and have) recommend them as an employer.

I'm sure others will have opinions that differ from my own and I respect that. I know that many factors enter into one's happiness with an MTSO, and a great deal of that depends on which account an MT works. So, please, no flames...I'm just relating MY personal experience with TT and if someone else's experience has been different, I certainly would never discredit that person just because of my own good fortune.

Again, if anyone can give me any more information about the audits in progress, I'd be really appreciative. I'm assuming since I haven't heard anything, it's probably because it's not related to my own account...yet.

I expect that those MTs who are up for 3-month review do get audited, and I know that 1 of my accounts is extremely particular when it comes to the work they see. They specifically don't want anyone adding words into the report, even if we think it makes the report look nicer, and we are used to putting out high grade work. A lot of us are very aware of what we turn in as work, and way back when LOL, everything had to look perfect on the reports. I don't think that this is a deliberate attempt to pad line counts, I think that was just what some MTs are used to. A lot of the MTs are excellent at what they do, but really hate the phrase "this is a verbatim account." I cringe sometimes too when I hear what some of the foreign doctors are saying, and think that this is what I am supposed to type and it is my work. Just as I said previously, this is proabably in the case of very particular clients who are watching every i that is dotted and every t that is crossed.

Forgot to add in my previous note that my supervisor did say that it is up to the discretion of the supervisors as to whether they terminate an MT, but it basically all boils down to someone who has a low score when audited, and they do terminate for this reason, if this happens more than 1 time.

Did you mean that at the present time are still doing audits, or did you mean is this an ongoing thing? Audits are a regular part of this company's protocol, and especially when a client has some concerns regarding the reports that are being done by TT.

Can somebody tell me what this audit/QA procedure is now? I'm so confused with when they are done, how many reports are done, etc., etc. I had been told earlier that 5 reports would be randomly pulled monthly and checked. You would be notified you had been audited and the results. If you passed, another 5 would be done the next month and so on. If you didn't pass the audit, then a redo audit within 7-14 days would be done on another 5 random reports. ...

I don't understand how auditing works. Two of my reports were reviewed, and in each case, a word I had puit in had a line through it, but then it was replaced with the same exact word! For that, I got marked off, getting only 99.50% or 99.75%. I wish there was a way we could give direct feedback to the auditors at the time we're viewing our reports. ...

:( I have tried to give the QA program the benefit of the doubt, thinking it was being done fairly, rewarding us for near perfect QA scores. I have managed to keep my QA score above 99% every week until last week. Before last week, I normally have 8 to 11 reports pulled for audit, some short, some long. I have only had 3 audits in 2-1/2 years. Even though I received notice of scores of 99.6 or 99.7, I did not receive any account of what my mistakes were to produce those scores. A comma? A hyphen? Okay, I may be the last one to know this, but I thought the only QC audits I was getting were the ones showing up on the DQM QA Feedback screen where it says (1 unread) or (how many ever unread). When you click on them, if the report has been audited by your QC, it will have a percentage score. But that's just for the reports you sent in with a blank. This is silly Not only do we need to follow CP guidelines but BOS and then DocQscribe standards. So even if you have the first 2, the third will get you audit. Why can't they spend the money and create one set of rules to follow and be done with it. I got CRITICAL errors on audit for things like: I typed "I used a translator telephone..." (that is what I heard) and the person auditing changed "a translator telephone" to "the translator telephone" (I suppose she heard "the" instead of "a"). In the physical exam portion of one report, the dictator used "was" throughout except for one time he said "is" and so I changed it to "was" to make it consistent and got a critical error for that. Does it seem like no matter what you do it is not good enough? Here lately it seems like they only audit the worst dictator. The only reports they have audited for me lately have been ESLs lately. I'd like to say I have had to learn accounts on my own and have had to cross reference many, many times. Yes, I have seen blanks where if someone had taken the time to hunt for the word, it would have helped me also, but for the most part with what we have to work with, I have seen words that are highly inaudible by many, many doctors with bad dictation and yet what was typed was a wonder we could make anything out of it. Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen lately. I received a quality audit on 4/25 on my audit, which I passed at 98.3% (had one icky one in there). Then on 4/29 got another email of an audit of 5 reports, did not give a total score, but they were all pretty darn good (3 at 100%, 1 at 98, 1 at 98.75). I am NOT going to read all those posts, but I just wanted to let you know that you are lucky you only get audited once a month. I get audited DAILY, at least once a day. Today I got audited twice, one 100% the other 99.75%. If I can remember correctly, I got dinged for typing something like "Aorta was tortuous" instead of "The aorta was tortuous". I work on a very difficult account as I'm sure many of you do as well, and I spend a great deal of time listening and re-listening to these difficult dictators to make sure I am hearing correctly. I want to repeat this for those who may have missed it and I am not looking for pity. Was moved to a new account after 4 years on 2 very difficult accounts with only 1 or 2 failed audits (and was always given a second chance). After 24 hours on the new account and telling them there was one particulary dictator I could not hear because he kept moving away from the phone, they audited me, included reports from that dictator, and immediately put me on 100% QA at which point I finally ...
