I work for Nuance.  I cannot remember the specifics regarding flexing rules because usually as long as I'm in the vicinity of my lines/hours, I will not bother flexing.  Well, this pay period is not even in the vicinity of having hardly any hours/lines.  I am going to have to flex.  Remind me please, did they change it or is it still flex whenever we want or are there certain times?  I know last year one team lead had said only certain times but I don't think it pertained to all accounts.  Is anyone clear on this?

about when you can make your hours up, as long as they are made up by the end of the pay period. This is the final week of Webmedx, so any time will most likely need to be made up by midnight on Friday. Remember this week will generate a short check.

I don't think their is a rule, but I don't remember the work being so scarce either. Six months ago I would be happy to see an OOW situation, knowing I could easily work late to make up lines. Now I dread signing on because I know the work is just not going to be there anytime. Meanwhile, they are still hiring.

I remember when I worked at Nuance and you were supposed to check with your supervisor before flexing, as if you log on and you are not scheduled you could take work away from a scheduled MT.

I asked my TL because I'm critically short on hours this week due to OOW. My particular account is closed to US MTs at a certain time and other accounts are as well.

Some accounts allow for flexing at any time of the day or night (my friend who works at Nuance).

I was told that "they" understand we won't get in 40 hours during the holidays. Still, that doesn't help my paycheck.

I would just ask your TL, IF you can reach him/her.

Really I am glad I don't work there anymore. I heard they just had a big cut and it seemed like I barely could meet their hourly line rate expectations. I kinda thought they had that fixed so you would go faster all the time, so they could get more out of you. I will give them credit though, on training and things like that I did get pretty good training and I had a very sweet trainer who was professional. It was a LOT better on that than Soft Script, which even though pay for them was a little better I found them to be very poorly managed.

Okay, so Nuance bought out both Webmedx and Mtec. So you're saying that Webmedx ceases to exist? What about Mtec? What do people who graduated before it changed ownership do if they need to contact the school for some reason, references or help? Do they still exist under the new ownership? Is everything still the same, same instructors and staff?

As far as I know, that will remain the same, but if you have concerns because you are a student, I would definitely contact them and find out what is going on. With all the changes afoot, I would not take anything for granted.

I thought my TL at Nuance was fairly easy to reach, maybe things have changed. Unlike Soft Script where you might not get any kind of response.

She took off for Christmas/New Year's, and she does periodically check in and monitor the q. I could prob email her, but there is not telling when she would answer. It usually takes her a few days if ever. I did decide I would ask one of the Super QCs who was working last night. She said if we run out to ask our TL if its okay if we get on and make up time before we do.

Did everyone get the email that said response needed saying we understood? Now no more flexing outside your regular shift hours. If you do not get in your time/lines, you can only flex outside your shift during open flex time, which is Friday 6 pm until Monday 6 am. I don't guess this really bothers me. When you say you are flexing, do you still have to wait for permission to sign on later that day and get your time in?  I figure if you are flexing, you can come back anytime that day to finish up.  Used to be we were told to make up time on Friday afternoon/evenings, but too many hours and too many people to do it all then. ...

According to a poster below which has apparently already attended one of the payroll meetings (as the poster posted) for nuance they have decided to keep the incentive part of all of our pay going with an exception that now you have to have over the industry standard of 98% to get a production based incentive. In addition (if this poster is accurate) they have again cut the overall pay from 8 and 4 to 3 3/4 AND 7 1/2. This is nothing but a bunch of crapploa...an MT who is now getting ...

I thought they were 2 different services.  Everyone is buying out everyone, so who knows.  All the small companies have been merged I guess.  I thought Nuance was out of New York and were the primary with VR.  Maybe one has to keep up with the changes and be a member and pay the dues and go to the meetings with AAMT and be a CMT to keep up with the changes, even though you still get 4 cents. ...

Does anyone know why the ad says "No inquiries from overseas" when they obviously offshore the work?  Anyone reading that would incorrectly assume they do not offshore.  I was reading an article in the newspaper that a journalist was talking about a few days ago regarding the hospital outsourcing to the Web/Nuance, and the spokesperson for the hospital said in the article that the company only employs US MTs.  ...

If Webmedx does away with or changes their recently advertised "PRODUCTION BASED INCENTIVE" bonus and adopts the Nuance quality based bonus then this change may be considered by quite a few WMX employees as yet another cut in pay. Is this true? Because if so that means they dont take into consideration years of experience, opportunity for increase or nothing. Seems kind of hard to work for an obviously big and successful company that is only willing to pay their employees 0.41 cpl and thats it, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. I mean they dont come off to be the type of company that "cant" afford to give increases in pay to their transcriptionist. I heard that if you work from 10pm to 6pm you can make 0.46 cpl, bet ...

I received an incentive bonus this paycheck (for the first time ever). My QA score was 99.3%. So, I get an email today from my supervisor that my latest audit was only 98.2% and they are going to reaudit me in 2 weeks to see if my score is improving or if I need further disciplinary action. WTF? I've been with Nuance for 3 years and think it's time to jump ship. This company is messed up, and the QA is so inconsistent. ...

In house just got outsourced to Nuance.  In our meeting, they said the PTO is 10 days total, which you have to use for holidays and sick time as well.  So, if you take all 6 holidays (if that is even possible), you get 4 days off a year?  Not even a week for vacation left over.  Someone asked if that changes with time of service and they said no, that will never go up.  ARE YOU KIDDING?  Is this what the rest of you get for PTO, or is this just something they have s ...

I have been with Nuance a few years.  I'm an MT.  I'm not the best MT out there, nor am I the worst.  I read the comments on these boards and my jaw is on the floor.  FYI, not everyone has the bad experiences that have been discussed on this site.  I can't account for the horrible things I hear people saying about Nuance, except to say if things are really that bad for you, maybe MT is not for you or Nuance is not a good fit for your career path. ...

I AM SO LIVID!  These QCs are unbelievable!  I used "and" instead of "the" and the QC marks me off for English misspelling/typo which is a 0.5 error instead of an English word misuse which is less at 0.25. Do you think "and" and "the" are typos?  I think not!  You see, this is evidence that they are being totally unfair and proof that they do not want anyone to make incentive!  This is my opinion!  Anything to bring your score down!  Man this pisses me off!&n ...
