Anyone currently work for or recently just left ExecuScribe have information they would be willing to share about how they pay? I am curious about the statement they have on their web site. How do they handle down times (no work, computer/internet not working, etc) to “ensure…federal guidelines with regards to minimum wage and over-time laws”?
Since they require testing with the application, if you are willing, could you also answer the following, so I know if taking the test is worth the time?
1. As an IC, is the minimum starting pay above .09 cpl for straight transcription?
2. Is it mostly straight transcription or VR? If VR, what cpl for VR?
Thank you for taking the time to reply. You can Email me also if you are more comfortable doing it that way.
How will I be compensated?
ExecuScribe compensation is based on a number of factors at the time of hire, including: test scores, years of experience, CMT status, and difficulty of account hired for. Home-based employees are paid on a production basis. Most account production is based on the standard 65 character line (including spaces). Radiology account production is paid on a report basis. Though ExecuScribe pays its home-based employees on a production basis, we ensure that we meet all federal guidelines with regards to minimum wage and over-time laws.
I guess there are 2 offices:
By the way, if anyone decides to apply and take their test, one word of caution for anyone who has any “special characters” in their name like a hyphenated last name. You have to fill out the whole application before they enter your info into the testing page and send you a password to take the test. Well, my name is hyphenated, and the password they sent included the hyphen, but when I tried to log in, I got an error message: “password cannot contain any special characters,” so if anyone else plans to take the test, leave out any “special characters” when you fill out the application.
I am curious of these CLIENT Testimonials are too good to be true?
"The transcriptionists go beyond merely typing a document; they note discrepancies in the dictation so that we can investigate, thereby providing an accurate patient medical record. They are ‘human spell checkers’ who will follow up to ensure that medications, terminology, etc., are spelled correctly."

I would think it would be a big waste of time to ask if you want Employee or IC status if they do not offer IC status anymore, but then again, MTSOs never want to spend money updating their web pages, so it is very possible that they simply have not updated that section.
If anyone has applied with them recently and checked IC, I would be interested to know if you heard back from them about that.
As far as their "minimum wages" statement, that is one reason I asked. Why would they keep that in the FAQ, while asking if you want to be an IC.
Nothing makes sense at that company, so I was hoping someone working there or who recently applied might be able to shed some light on this multiple-personality company.
