This company is advertising MT position on MTDaily, yet I cannot find this company in archives, or even by googling. And this is stated in Central Valley, CA, not Pennsylvania, I did go to the archives and search......??

"Davis Medical Transcription Service" comes up with a company located in Visalia, which is indeed located in California's central valley.

Other than that, I know nothing about them.

page listings showing address in Visalia. Michele Davis is owner. But no website that I can find at all, and I have used several search engines. I am thinking that cannot be good....at all.

There was a Davis Transcription about 5 years ago that filed Chapter 11. My friend worked for her for a short time but never got paid. As I remember, it was just a 1-person company and my friend did overflow. After a few e-mails to the owner regarding her paycheck, she started receiving automatic e-mails back stating the company had closed down. This may or may not be the same company, but I certainly would check it out before accepting a position.

I have already weeded out some "questionable" companies, and I want to thank all the MTs here....I ask a lot of questions and do a lot of research. A lot of these "questionable" companies are putting out ads to make some buck, they know that it is getting harder to find good work in our field, and they figure we will just take a position advertised, they can make some quick money, and run.....I never thought, when I entered this field in the mid 80s, that I would see it come to THIS, so much studying and continuing education, etc., all the money for latest references and software, been through several PCs....have a great work record and worked in a few prestigious hospitals in both acute care and diagnostic imaging, as well as even psych, and the pay offerings now are almost the same as when I started in this industry, like 25 years later????? And they expect more for less? Wow, I feel so valued!

I was sent a link to test for this company and was absolutely floored! I did the application form portion of the test and then was directed to the screening process, which was a series of multiple choice and fill in the blank questions (10 minutes it took to complete).
