Archivus - Anyone ever worked for them or currently - working for them? see msg

Just curious. I know they mainly do clinic accounts and most positions are IC. What are they like or what was your experience?

I work with them. Have for about 4 years. They are decent, especially compared to what I read about other companies on this board. They basically leave me alone to do my work. No pay raises.

Aren't they also pretty much straight typing? - I heard they were.

While they may be better than some, they still overhire, under pay, and have the worst communication of any company I can imagine. Management has no management skills, just bullying.

They are so mismanaged. They sent out a refrigerator magnet for MT week which probably cost them more to send it than it was worth with the name of the company misspelled of all things. They have no communication. Also, there is a lot of cherry picking going on. After a year they want to lower your rate of cpl and if you do not sign a new contract they will find a way to get rid of you to satisfy IRS reclassification.

apparently I was hired for an account that was very picky and couldn't keep anyone. It was all straight typing, but the TL was forever giving me a hard time.

I didn't like the fact that the TLs are allowed to assign you work for the day, as I got stuck with a lot of crappy dictators and not enough of a mixture to balance it out.

I got good, was able to make the lines, but then it seemed that there were more problems because I guess I was doing too many lines for the length of time I had been there.

The manager or supervisor (whatever she is) was rude and had no problem talking down to you. She was only nice for about the first few weeks, then her true colors came out.

The platform sucked to put it mildly. And if the dictators did not enter the correct demographic info, the system WAS NOT user friendly helping you to figure it out and yes they expect you to figure it out.

I don't understand their method for calculating lines but it seems that it took forever to make line count, as opposed to any place else I have worked.

It is IC for 8 cpl and yes, the pay is always on time. Communication does suck and goodness forbid you pick up the phone to call your TL or management, its like you have broken the law. All communication is perfered to be via email.

Not happy with IC at only 8 cpl, but other than that, if you - do your work they leave you alone,sm

The lack of communication is correct. They also treat everyone like we are all idiots. The QA is okay, but they have a condescending attitude about them. It depends on the account you get, but the work is pretty much okay. There are some clinics that the quality of the dictation is awful, others it is good. I do not go above and beyond as you are not rewarded for it anyway. There are no benefits whatsoever, no pay for training or mandatory meetings. They do pay on time and have never been without pay. Don't think you're going to just type, you have to jump through hoops for these clinics and do a lot of stuff that doesn't involve typing (or getting your cpl), so they are not only getting transcriptionists but also clerical workers.

Does this company hire and then after a quarterly review have QA pick your work apart and then tell you they can either terminate your contract or cut your pay. Understand this has happened to more than one person. Has anyone experienced this. They told me I was doing awesome work, not they picked the work after and then tell me that in 2 weeks my contract will either be terminated or will have a reduced line rate. This makes no sense.
