Why not just list requriements for employment and/or IC status?

George has been in business a long time, has very high professional standards. In 20 years in SF, I never heard anything bad about him.

I wonder if that means come mega-McTranscription - company will soon gobble it up. Hope not...

cause that's happening to way too many of the good, smaller places these days. They at least have scruples. The big ones are just transcription-Walmarts. Cheap? Yes. Quality? No.

I could not/would not presume to speak for George, but knowing the care and craftsmanship he put into building his business, I really doubt he would sell out. That is just my gut feeling. I think he has a lot of integrity in his professional life.

Integrity in the MT business - That is so rare these days! - Almost gives me some hope for the future!

I worked for a great small-to-medium co. and it was devoured by a giant, offshoring corporation that doesn't care about its workers at all. Quality took a nosedive after the merger.

In the MT business, bigger never seems to be better.

Integrity means so much to me that I quit the company I was working for when it sold out (and I do mean SOLD OUT) to a much larger company that offshores. Nope. I am an American and will quit rather than compromise my integrity.

On 10/8/13 I downloaded Antivirus Security Pro per instructions and they immediately charged my credit card $99.99. It was started that I was automatically granted a 12-month access in which to re-download at any time. I did a complete scan by Norton 360 last night and it listed a high risk threat: editscript mt.msi "compressed threats." Anyone know anything about this? I received a "critical error" alert that I used the word granulation instead of granular in a report that was by a heavy ESL. Seriously? That's a critical error? As a FYI I relistened and it still sounds like granulation so I've sent it to the manager for review. Either way ....it would not compromise patient care! ...

After reading the emails below, I had to post. After starting with Nuance, getting great QA reviews, great post audit reviews, and thinking I was doing well - I have gotten THREE major alert emails in 2 days. I have since discovered these were reviewed by Offshore QA. Why? Do we not have enough reviewers onshore? I think I am going to do what a poster below suggested and block them. I don't see that having the reviews come through helps me in any way. I have also noticed that some of these jobs have been QCd twice for some reason - and it is not a post audit. So frustrating to get dinged on things that I just can't prove I did or didn't do....I hate that part of this company. ...

I only have an hour window between my 2nd shift job and the 3rd shift job, and I try to sneak in a nap, but after a couple of hours I find myself yawning and losing focus. Coffee doesn't seem to help nor do any of the energy drinks. So far, 5 minutes of jumping jacks or something every hour has helped the most, but I still feel I am not at my best (and my production shows it). There is still another scam company out there offering to help "train" students and graduates. They will kindly let you do their real work, the work clients are paying them for. This is unacceptable and unethical. It will not look good on your resume because potential employers do not look kindly on this. The pdf electronic version of BOS-2 was so handy and easy to use. Wonder what made them decide to do away with that & make it to where you have to open a browser, find the link, sign in, find the BOS page, etc., for the 3rd edition. It's so much more time-consuming, not to mention the search feature doesn't work nearly as well as the BOS-2 pdf version.
