Anyone left at Axolotl/UHG? - Just curious
Posted: Nov 04, 2013
They had layoffs a few months back. Wondering if the transcription dept. is completely gone now or not.
Nope still there. Maybe have 20 transcriptionist left...maybe if that - This time next year

This time next year I don't think they will be. Sad situation, was a great company until they sold out.
...are those some of the original 20 - XMT

because I heard each time they let go of the MTs, there is a list and they have to choose who goes and who stays. don't blame them - there were some really great people MT/QA working there. hope they don't lose their jobs though.
As one of the long-time employees laid off last year I - ex-A

hope that those still left will be proactive in searching for a new career. At first I was devastated by the lay-off. I would have been okay if the entire department was laid off, but why I was laid off when others weren't was difficult to deal with. I had very good reviews, never missed a day, always worked my schedule, and most of the time worked OT when needed, quality scores above the minimum, etc.
I thought it was handled poorly. An email was sent out about reviews had been done and those who needed improvements had been contacted, and then just a couple of weeks later the layoff. It made it seem as though those that had problems were the ones let go. I don't know about the others, but I had no issues, my review just a couple of weeks before was above average, and I had not heard anything from management.
I still have been unable to find a full-time job that pays anywhere close to what I was making. I have gone back to school. Every month I have to take money out of savings to help with the bills. I am fortunate that I had savings, but they won't last much longer.
I would still rather be where I am now than working on that horrible account with M*Modal, and to be lied to like I was. I just wish I hadn't been in denial for so long. I had a feeling 2-3 years ago the MT department was going to be non-existent and wished I had started taking some classes then and then the layoff wouldn't have hurt financially so much.
I know they were bought out a few years ago but I heard through the grapevine United Health was getting rid of the whole transcription department is being let go this year. So sorry for those who will be affected if its true. ...
Is it only me or is anyone else losing serious money here? for the past 6 months I have NOT been able to make more than 950 dollars a month take-home. now with the new program my pay is even less. Please, is this happening to anyone else or am I being singled out. no matter what I do I cannot make more than 220 to 250 dollars a week in may paycheck, and am onily getting paid twice a month. I am short about 6 hours with mmodal now. IS IT JUST ME they are doing this to? ...
Hi--have seen mixed opinions about Axolotl from this board, especially lately. Considering switching from my current company as the M-Modal is awful and line count is suffering a lot because of it. What I'd like to know is:
- Does Axolotl have an incentive plan based on lines produced?
- Are full time employees required to work 40 hours a week and stick to a set-in-stone schedule, and are you required to work a weekend day?
- Is there plenty of work to go around and i ...
Recently started with Axolotl (now part of United Health Group). I have 18 years experience and the account they put me on has to be THE WORST I have ever experienced, 99.9% horrible ESL's, on top of which their M*Modal platform is very, very slow. I have worked at other companies using M*Modal and did not find this to be the case with them. This account is VR and they pay by the hour because apparently the dictators and platform are so bad, an MT can't make any money by the line. Also ...
Got a call from Axolotl today about interviewing. Have heard good things in the past, but saw they were just acquired by another company. Any current employees with advice? Pay rates/platform? Is it straight MT or do they have VR also? Affordable benefits? Would appreciate any information. Comfortable(ish) at current job, would hate to leave and then have transcription phased out or pay cut. Thanks in advance for any info! ...
I am sorry to bring this up here, but I just wanted to know if anyone else who works for Optuminsight, or Axolotl is concerned about where the transcription portion of the company is going? I have noticed the workload has diminshed significantly since the takeover. There have been people who have been there for a significant amount of time retiring or quitting. Even the Optuminsight website says nothing about transcription nor does United Health Group. The letter to the c ...
An ex-Axolotl/Optum Insight employee was looking for 3 others to sign a petition for TAA. I didn't sign at the time, but am now interested in signing. I've checked January archives and I don't see the post. Archives showing Jan-Mar and not prior. ...
2 MTs are filing a TAA petition. 3 are needed to apply online ourselves.
It is just a petition, nothing against the employer and, if nothing comes of it, at least we stood up to let the federal government know we are losing our jobs to overseas and due to technology. You would think we could get some help as IT people, auto industry, and many others do get assistance when their jobs are lost.
It would be an interesting statistic to see how many MTs in this country hav ...
I have been with this company for a while now and completely loved Ax before this merger happened. I just wondered if anyone else was feeling really stressed out and out of sorts because of all of the changes taking place? So many things are up in the air. Too much stress. ...
This doc always says, "right and left foot", but i cant help but think that it should be "right and left feet"..... Can someone clear this up for me? For example: The patient comes in today for examinatin of his right and left foot. or The patient's right and left foot appears in normal condition. ...
I have no idea what that last word is (spelled phonetically), but here is the sentence in its entirety. Hopefully someone can help shed some light on it.
Patient was admitted from an outpatient setting on ..... for elective left total hip replacement secondary to history of left hip "skiffy". ...
Are there any companies left that either transfer files by FTP or similar and leave you alone to do your work as long as it is in TAT? I work at home due to my anxiety. Have a position with a company that is trying to start some kind of group thing where you have someone hovering over you while you work or you are supposed to be the hoverer for someone else, which might be okay for some people who like working with others. I have never been able to work well with people. ...
Left Mmodal first of the year, not unhappy at all. After almost 20 years with them, I feel great. I now work 15 hours a week doing respite care for a 3-year-old and love it. Feel sorry for those of you still there. ...
I hit the ceiling last week and quit after 12 years with MQ part-time. I started as a tier 3 and ended as a tier 3. Topped out. I was making close to $20/hr and ended at $10/hr thanks to ASR. My submission rate was apparently too high for them for Jan and Feb. Well, what do they expect? Shyte dictation equals shyte transcription, but I'll be damned if I am going to risk someone's life just to fill in a blank, and this was before they rolled out this "First ...
