I submitted my resume online to Alliance MT a week or so ago and was sent an email from "NS". She asked that I call her to talk with her further about a position with the company, so I did. After our conversation, she set up a time with for me to call her and do a test with me over the phone.
So, I called back at the agreed upon time, and she said that she couldn't talk with me right now that she was on the phone with a doctor. Red flag number one: If an employer set up a time to test a prospective employee, shouldn't that time be set aside and the line kept open in order to receive said prospective employee's call? "NS" said she would call back, but by the time she called back, which was more than a half-hour later, I had to be somewhere else, so we set up another day and time for the test.
I called in again at the appropriate rescheduled time for the test. No answer. I called a few minutes later, no answer again, and this time, I proceeded to leave a message. My call was not returned that day or weekend, and I did not receive any e-mail communication about what happened. Red flag number two: If an employer reschedules a conference call with a prospective employee and does not answer the call or contact the employee to give them an explanation of why the call was not answered, something is wrong! (Side note: Alliance MT is not on the east coast, so Sandy cannot be used as an excuse here!)
This morning, however, I received an email that "all positions are filled." Wait a minute, so now, all the positions have suddenly become filled? Then why not simply tell me that last week instead of all the ducking and dodging? Of course, I don't believe this at all!
If you have sent your resume to Alliance MT and are contacted about a job, it might be best to run in the other direction! The behavior of this person screams unprofessional and shady, at best!
