Did any of you send your resume just to see if you hear anything back from them??

They responded and said they had chosen 23 out of all of the resumes they recieved. They asked for some computer information and willingness for a background check, and stated they would be contacting within the next 7-10 days for an interview. I'll let you know if anything comes of it!!

Background check? Unless they are lending or leasing equipment to you, your resume should suffice. I would not give out any more information than absolutely necessary to any company. How do you know their intent? You're not handling their money, your references would tell them if you were indiscreet, and you wouldn't be applying for the job if you didn't intend on working. They already get your SS#, your address, your date of birth, and - if there's direct deposit - your bank account number. What else do they need?

I heard back from them, but my reply was more generic than the others. Since I have about 20 years of rad experience, I know it's not "me" so I suspect it was timing: I didn't submit it until Sunday. Received the reply this morning, after I saw these other posts. I wish you guys well!!

probably because they wanted to - i'm a transcriptionist, not a mind reader or someone sitting around trying to figure out "now why did they do that!" geeeessshhhh some of the questions y'all ask are just odd.....why do YOU think it was???

unless they mean they have chosen 23, only 3 will be hired - so they are not promising anything.

I have 30 years Rad experience and experience doing exactly what they wanted on Powerscribe. I heard nothing back.

As for the background check every company/hospital I have worked for or applied to in the past 3 years has asked for a background check as well as fingerprints. They never ask for the info until they offer you the job pending your passing those checks. Don't give them the info unless you have a solid job offer.

I just received that same e-mail with 23 applicants being selected to go further. This is now Aug 30th. This is a scam. My email was a week later and received the same email. I'm not sending them anything else. Not worth the risk for a part-time position.

I emailed them as I was also 1 of the 23. I asked them several questions about their company, etc. and they answered each and every one of them.

I have been on QA for at least 2 months. The first month my TL went on vacation and when she did, I was still on full QA and all reports monitored. Does anyone know of any smaller, family-owned transcription agencies? I honestly don't think any of these companies who advertise are a placed you would want to call home. I have been in transcription for many years, have tested for many of these companies and never get a call back. reports that are forwarded. Most of them are apparently computer generated and very hard to read. I always wondered what reports looked like at the customer end --- not very good from what I can tell. I have looked to try and see if the reports are transcribed or some sort of Epic or Dragon speak program. I took a test the other day to apply for an MT job and the doctor loud and clear gave the patient's name. The dictation was a consult. When the doctor mentioned the name of the hospital, I heard a beep, but when then the patient's name was stated I heard it. I hope those are fake dictations that we test on. If that was real information, I do not want to go there for help. ...

I just applied online for a job for this company and after completing their "test" was told I did not qualify for a position. I have been a transcriptionist for 24 years and the questions they asked for their test were so easy any student fresh out of medical secretarial school could answer. I just cannot do this. I lose pay because I read specs and utilize QA trying to do a good job for the client. I sure hope some job offers come through soon.
