Accentus executives - wondering and sick

Posted: Nov 21, 2012

Will we still be associated with the same executive/office staff or did they get hefty severence pay and all work will move to Nuance headquarters?  Will the Accentus office close?  They already told us that the Accentus name will be phased out.

How do they expect us to keep on doing a good job now when we don't know what's going to happen?  I don't even feel like working today!

If Accentus "name is going away" - Another Accentus MT

[ In Reply To ..]
then you can bet we are to be "assimilated." You can also bet the higher ups are so excited because they are all probably getting nice bonuses/severance and of course the shareholders, etc., will all make out also. Heck, I'd be excited too...unfortunately, the rest of us get the shaft. Yes, it's depressing and I see what is to come. Only thing we can each do is take whatever measures (or not) that we each deem appropriate to look out for ourselves...after all, that is exactly what the owners/execs are doing.

don't understant 'IF' name is going away. the buyer never changes name. - ???? NM

[ In Reply To ..]
It's like if you adopted a child - would you change your name to theirs??

Puleeze. My bought out MTSO, we immediately started using - new name. nm

[ In Reply To ..]
The adopted child analogy is a little strange, IMO.
right, the name of the buyer. Accentus is the buyer here? - gee, thought it was NUANCE. NM
[ In Reply To ..]
.
Umm, meaning there will be no Accentus, just - Nuance. nm

and that is what I was saying in post up there. - why would anyone wonder IF the name no longer.
[ In Reply To ..]
perhaps you posted wrong? Was that for "another Accentus MT's" post?
Then you said The buyer never changes the name, but - seem to me buyer always changes it. nm
[ In Reply To ..]

the buyer, NUANCE, will not change their name. The SELLER, Accentus, will to Nuance - know what - nevermind. NM

.

It will take a couple of months before you really start to - see the changes and then the major in

[ In Reply To ..]
about 6 months or so. I know exactly how you are feeling. I am a Transcend MLS and our stomachs sunk the day they announced our merger. You just need to make a decision on whether you will stay or move on. You have a job while you decide to do that. It'll take a few days to settle down, but you will. Good luck to you and your fellow MLS. You can read the Nuance board and see there have been many others before you who walked in your shoes.

What happened with management when my MTSO - was bought out by the other big one. SM

[ In Reply To ..]
The owner and director of operations, we never heard from again. One got a management type position with the new MTSO, the other went to sales. Our work flow people, stayed on for 3-4 months (to make the transition smoother, I'm sure) then abruptly they were told their services were no longer needed in those positions but they could sure start doing MT work if they wanted. Nobody took it, they were out of a job starting that day.

Our team leads stayed with new MTSO Of those I am aware of, one was moved to a different position and mine stayed with us. Mine has since left to work outside the home.

My advice to anyone other then MTs and maybe team leads would be to start looking for another job. This one will be very short-lived for anyone in management.

its common knowledge with any merger comes 2 sets of mgmt - for 1 setup and they have to condense. sm

Been there in 80s, 90s with multitude of mergers, not just transcription, and as a regular pee-on employee observer.

Whatever. I just was stating what happened with my bought out - MTSO. nm

Webmedx HR department all let go - anon

[ In Reply To ..]
I can't speak for what will happen this time, but the HR department was let go as soon as the transition was made for employees getting the new Nuance benefits (it took a little while). the account managers remained for the most part. Good luck to all.

Looters - Zenaida

[ In Reply To ..]
My company, too, was just looted by Nuance. The transition was such total chaos that I gave up half-way through and said the hell with it. You would think with all the looting they have done the past few years, they would have worked out a smoother transition process. Go through all that training and paperwork, getting conflicting instructions every time I turn around. And all this for a 56% paycut? My Social Security benefit will be higher than what I would make from Nuance,so that's where I'm headed first thing Monday morning!

I think MTSO likes buy out chaos cause it weeds out those MTs that - cant handle the stress.

not just stress, needless wasted time and money - anon

[ In Reply To ..]
Had to redo I-9 status 4 times because they kept sending different directions and requirements....that took time AND money. Continual conflicting e-mails, took hours and hours to sort through and figure out...so I challenge your assertion and rather think that the 99% accuracy requirement is only for peon MTs and ineptitude reigns everywhere else.
Huh? The time, $ or emails dont bother N.And if an MT can get thru - all that and survive, more than SM
[ In Reply To ..]
likely that MT has the cahones to stick around and work for N. I really dont see how your post addresses the issue of MTSO using chaos to weed out some MTs.
stress - anon
[ In Reply To ..]
I guess my point is that IMO just the desperate who have no other options will put up with this (they may last for a while to see if things improve). There are a lot of other opportunities if you look. I don't think it is a matter of being able to put up with stress but rather not being willing to put up with incompetence, and their best MTs will find another profession or another position. There are of course exceptions and some people don't like any change ever, but most MTs have already proven then can adapt to
constant software changes, learning to edit with VR, etc.
I have stayed at a big one after a buy out to prove to myself - that I can master anything. And I am. nm

Personally, I'd say they like the money they make - from the sell, the power gained by the buyer. NM

[ In Reply To ..]
.
Well, of course. But I bet they like having a way to weed out MTs - at the very beginning of the process. nm

doubt they give a care, plan is on paper with numbers. - I dont believe they get jollies. NM

Are Nuance Communications Executives Overpaid?
Dec 03, 2013

Here is an article of interest to stockholders of Nuance. Money quote:________ "For better or worse, every time you buy a stock, you're effectively endorsing the underlying organization's practices. If you are a Nuance shareholder, you're endorsing the fact that five executives have gotten rich at the expense of the company's profitability. This practice may have undermined shareholder wealth, which hasn't been to your benefit. In addition, this practice is not nec ...

LPH At Accentus
May 04, 2012

Hi.  I haven't been working for Accentus very long, but long enough that I should be meeting the 200 lph requirement for SR, but I'm still really struggling to do it.  I was wondering if anyone else had that experience or if maybe I am entering my time incorrectly or something.  I consistently average 165 lph for straight transcription so I feel like 200 is something I shouldn't be struggling so hard to meet, but I am.  I love Accentus so far so I don't wa ...

I would be doing cliniic work because I want the flexible 12-hour schedule to fit around a part time job working directly for a small hospital.   I may end up being bored, but I want to give it a try.  How is the clinic work and how is the Apex system?  I have previously worked on DocQspeech and Escription.  I really want no more than two accounts and to be mostly just left alone unless I screw something up.  Is this possible with Accentus? ...

ACCENTUS/TRANSOLUTIONS
Mar 20, 2012

Medical Transcription just keeps going downhill.  They expect more and pay less.  I work for Accentus now and actually love my account and got my pay up to 5 cents for SR and 9 cents for transcription, but I have to work 10 hours a day just to make ends meet.  They pay based on how many lines you type per hour so it can change every pay period.  It's better than what I had at Transcend.  The only thing is that my supervisor is a narcissist, very mean, tears you down ...
