Accentus good or bad? - dnh

Does anyone have anything to share about this company, good or bad? Any information would be appreciated. TIA.

There has been a lot of bickering about them lately, but I have been there for a year and have had no problems. Good accounts, not great pay, but not insulting either, flexible, no VR. There is the whole QT line issue, but they do not bother me at all. You do have to know your stuff. Search Zylomed and you will see the conversation that happened a couple weeks ago, but again, I am totally happy.

I've heard that Accentus pays based on a 55 line count, and do not pay for spaces or templates. Is this true?

I can only speak for the acute care side of things. I have worked here for a bit over 4 months now. I use IT and it works perfectly with Apex, no problems at all. Apex is rather archaic, IMO, but I have learned to work around many of its imperfections and have made some IT macros to handle some of the commands. Having said that, within a month I was making as much as I made at my old job. Pay is very fair (not like what was mentioned above, at least for me, but they may have been speaking of the Zylomed part of the company).

The pay IS based on VBC, BUT it is a 55 character line count. I checked out how this compared with the 65 with spaces line count by taking 4 large documents and checking their stats in Word. The line count came out close or identical (varying at the most by 4 lines out of a total count of 252 lines) in the 2 methods of recording lines.

They pay on a 65 character line count and it does include spaces. That is for both typed and templated work.

I work for the Accentus Acute Care or Transolutions side and the pay is based on 55 characters/no spaces. It truly does come out the same as 65 character with spaces lines.

As for the Zylomed side, they are the 65 character with spaces, etc. I think the one being spoken of above is the Zylomed side, but just thought I would chime in to shed light on the pay issue.

Hi. I haven't been working for Accentus very long, but long enough that I should be meeting the 200 lph requirement for SR, but I'm still really struggling to do it. Medical Transcription just keeps going downhill. They expect more and pay less. I work for Accentus now and actually love my account and got my pay up to 5 cents for SR and 9 cents for transcription, but I have to work 10 hours a day just to make ends meet. They pay based on how many lines you type per hour so it can change every pay period. It's better than what I had at Transcend. The only thing is that my supervisor is a narcissist, very mean, tears you down ...
