ADP LLC/Eight Crossings Online Interview - Dahlia

Posted: Mar 10, 2015

Through my college job database, I applied for MT offered by ADP. The next day I received an email about adding gmail/yahoo account to have an online interview. She stated she will be on standby with no specific schedule. There was sporadic communication over the course of 3 days and today she conducted the interview. There was a part where she did not respond until an hour later! What freaked me out was when she listed the supplies I would need and stated the company will send me a check to cover it. Is this normal? I have no MT experience.

Most companies who interview this way...SM - Old Anon

are known to be scams. Go to the MT Jobs website and read the scam alert at the beginning. Legitimate companies will have you submit a resume, take a test, then call YOU for an interview. And if this company has a massive amount of equipment you must buy like a paper shredder, time tracking software, fax machine, copier, etc., then they are probably one of the scammers. Stay away.

It's a scam, go no further with this! Do not give - any more info about

yourself and do not cash that check! Legit MT jobs do not generally use Google or Yahoo, and the fact that it took an extremely long time for her to respond, screams overseas.

The above two posters are correct, this is a scam. Someone else just posted the link a day or two ago (which is below). I had no idea the scam was still going on as it has been 2012 since I've read much about it.

You have no MT experience, does that also include no schooling in MT? Even with schooling, you have little hope of landing a job as an MT. With no schooling, you have absolutely no chance of getting a legitimate MT position. There are people out there looking for work with 20 to 30 years of experience, sometimes more so keep that in mind.

Here are a few easy rules how not to fall for a scam.

If you do not have experience in the field, you will not get a job in that field at top pay.

Any secure information such as medical records, bank info, credit card info, ADP (payroll info) will not use an unsecured email/IM system such as Google or Yahoo.

You should never pay for a job or major equipment to do the job. The company will provide equipment, they will never send you a check to purchase equipment or programs.

Look at the wording of the email/IM. Read the enclosed link carefully, as the poor English skills are very apparent.

Use common sense. Have you ever received one of those emails from some foreign royalty or well off nationalist who needs your help (not the State Department) to claim the millions, but would cut you in on part of the deal if you could just do whatever? There is also the winning lottery ticket from the UK (or wherever) that you didn't buy. It's all a scam. If it sounds to good to be true, it is. Those emails may as well come from givemeyourmoneyfool@fraud.com.

One final thing, alert your college and tell them about the scam posted. Warn other students and friends, and be cautious.

Appreciate the responses & more info - Dahlia

Thank you all for your quick responses. After I posted here, I alerted my college career center. I'm now just anxious about what information the scammer has since they probably received my resume from the job database and from the "interview." I didn't add anything new but my resume has my city, state, contact, education and work background.

I may contact local law enforcement about this.

Chill....no biggie. Rule of thumb on resumes is to leave off address and even phone number if you want, but leave email. Create free email when doing this stuff. As a matter of fact, you might be a scammer too? Who knows? Forgot cops. PT BarDumb one born every day was right.

How Difficult Is An Online MT School?

Anyone Know A Good Shorthand Online Course?
