Many of them are middle age or later, retirement is coming up soon. Or many of them are operating on a razor's edge profit margin that could collapse at any time despite how well many of them claim they are doing and how much work they claim to have.

Even the really crappy jobs of editing are going to die out eventually. There really won't be enough of even the crappy jobs to go around.

Time to start looking seriously for another line of work if you need to work online or at home.
