I have been an MT for 30 years, and like everyone else, lost so many wonderful jobs to VR. I still have one MT account that does pay 0.08 cpl, but it is only 500-800 lines a week. I have moved into legal transcription and also do criminal investigation deposition transcription. One of those pays by the word, the other by the minute. Yes, I am working for 3 different companies, but I have more work than I can handle these days. I went from MT into insurance (which I hated), but parlayed that into legal, and then into CI. It is still possible to make a very, very good wage doing transcription, it just takes a little more creativity to find it! I wish you all the luck in the world!
