I meant to hit the like button and hit dislike by mistake, sorry. I hope MT is enough to sustain you until 2025. I was an MT for probably as long as you were and worked the last few years as a medical records clerk until I retired in February. I left at about the same time that inflation really took off, and I only hope someone does something soon to get things under control. I want to work part time for extra money and it’s been discouraging finding something else. I’ve actually had some interviews, but sometimes the job is misrepresented in the ad, and not what I was expecting at all, sometimes a person instinctively knows when something is not going to be a good fit. I’m applying for just about anything clerical and put heavy emphasis on those skills, my work ethic, and what I can bring to the company. I’m volunteering to gain additional skills. 2025 seems a long way off, but I would say to start making an exit plan and keep trying for jobs outside of MT. Good luck.
