Coding / Medical Billing

coding - me in the corner

My experience. I completed my CPC training, tested the first time and didn't pass, tested the second time, and passed with a very good score. That was September last year. I still haven't found a job either in-office or remote. There is absolutely nothing for a CPC-A. I have sent perhaps 80 resumes (that includes the job applications too). Had a few tests, a few callbacks, then nothing else.
This whole medical coding career is a joke, I think anyway. It is a continual drain of money, for membership fees, CEUs, books, etc. It's very expensive. Every company wants 3+ years of experience from what I have seen anyway.
I wish I had not gone this route I know that. Huge waste of time, money, effort with zero return.
Oh, yeah, you can take another course to take the A off of your CPC-A for more money but good luck trying to get through that stupid course too. Another mistake I made.
Sorry to be so bitter about it all but I wish someone had told me the truth.
