It is called orientation. I know of no facility that turns coders loose at home without some time on-site, a week is actually pretty quick. Some places require new coders to stay onsite for a year before letting them go home. When MTs worked for hospitals as employees, many of them worked onsite first but it was still considered a work at home job. How do you know this is the “coding cheerleader,” and why do you have to pick every post apart and look for the negative in every situation? With the current situation with COVID, all coders are home-based.
