My hearing loss - Deaf

I also suffer from hearing loss and I am pretty sure it is from transcribing. I have been at this since the 1980s. I also get that foggy feeling but have never attributed it to my hearing loss, so thanks for mentioning that. My doctor told me to lower the volume also but then I really could not hear the dictation. I can only hear people talk to me during the day when I can see their face. I think I have learned to read lips. I took early retirement at 62. At that time, I was contemplating filing for disability because of my hearing loss, but the SS associate told me I would probably get the same ridiculous monthly check on disability that I get now. I do not think I can change my SS to disability at this point. It is extremely frustrating as I still do a little bit of part time transcription. Some days are better than others, but I did have that foggy feeling type of day yesterday and could not hear anything. I wonder if there is some sort of lawsuit I (we) could file because of this definite work-related hearing loss.
