offsets having to pay your half of the self-employment tax. I worked IC for a while and got a good CPA who knew how to do taxes for the self-employed. He took every legal advantage for saving me having to pay too much in taxes. So OP, I think you are making the right decision sticking with your IC account for now. As far as the person going to work for them, that is her choice, and we all should respect that. She should also respect the OPs choice to stay as an IC. There's no need to insult anyone here.
