There seem to be a lot of MT jobs now - sm

so shouldn't our pay be going up?

Are they having trouble hiring MTs with the VDI requisite for most of the companies hiring?

If I was an MT clueless to the VDI/Nuance situation, would I be willing to install a program on my computer that was going to take 4+ hours and hog my hard drive and memory?  

I just don't think so, not for the pay being offered as an IC.  

Pay for an IC should be a minimum of $.09/$.05.  

I guess companies have forgotten we have to pay our own benefits and expenses out of this $.07/$.04.

You can only make decent money if you have great accounts that require little editing.  If you have horrible ESLs and voice rec accounts that are inserting normals and using templates, you can't make any money.
