and trying desperately to get out of this industry. I've applied for a lot of positions out of MT, some at hospitals, and don't even get an interview. It's taking 3 jobs working around 60 hours total between them to make less than I was making 20 years ago and that before was with benefits - now it's all IC. Sigh. I live on a tight budget and don't eat out, family had small holiday, etc gifts and I'm barely keeping the bills paid but am doing it. Fortunately I only have a mortgage and utilities to pay. I do grow a garden in the summer which helps with the grocery bills.
