When I was in school for this in 1993, there was talk then of things changing - what with going digital and the negative impact that would have on us. But, like you, I had kids to raise on my own - and the industry was only just starting to change. I have hung in here since then, but I feel I have milked this industry dry and that the only work left is only going to pay me minimum wage (which for an IC is about $18/hour average). I am one of those who will be retiring and just supplementing with the remaining accounts I have left. I tell everybody I know to read their medical records.
