Not the docs - Mmodal

We need the silence accelerator. The docs are afraid to pause. I actually heard one apologize to someone yesterday that she was dictating and didn’t know how to stop. So without the accelerator now we wait while they scan back and forth through computer screens looking for information all day long. Or talk on a cell phone. Or yell at their kids. I had one get up and answer the door and talk to some neighborhood kids a few days ago!! Some may just be being inconsiderate, but a lot of them are afraid if they pause/stop, they'll get cut off mid dictation. So instead of speeding through all these pauses, we now get to sit and wait. But the vast majority of the pauses are when otherwise speedy dictators are stopping during labs and imaging to look for values, or stop for a long minute here and there to go searching through the computer for a date or a procedure, in which case it's almost impossible to just speed through those because you can't even predict them, and who wants to speed through lab values?! Unfortunately all this is a lot harder on our paychecks than it is on theirs.
