Feeling a need to point out that pretty much ALL of us MTs here work hard, show up, do a good job, and do what needs to be done. You're not unique in that way, though I'm sure you didn't intend to come across that way.
Most of the biggies do hire PT. Flexibility in schedules is trickier, particularly because there are a lot of OOW situations and you end up chasing work when it is available, not necessarily when you want to work or according to a schedule. Good luck in your search.
