and felt like a total loser when I went to the UI office (because I didn't think you could get UI if fired - but you can if "through no fault of your own"). They (UI, food stamp people, etc) all said it was no big deal - shit happens, especially when corporate greed and wage theft are involved! And they told me, "hey you paid into the system for 40 years, it's your time to use it."
So don't stress yourself out if they are pushing you - let THEM push you out the door, don't give them the satisfaction of leaving when you paid into this system - reap the benefits!!
