Shorthand - sickened

My Shorthand license is almost up. Obviously if you work here, you know money is extremely tight. My power went out during the night and I had to restart computer this morning. I've been working for some time before I realized my Shorthand wasn't even open. My work is all editing. Wondering if it's really worth it to spend the money on it, does anybody else not have it?
