Such as having your own liability insurance, signing your own BAA, having other clients whom you contract with, setting your own rates, submitting your bill for services, providing all your own equipment, training, and directions. So them doing QA on your work would be out, providing site specifics that tell you how to do everything, the list goes on and on. Read al the specifics on the IRS website that define an IC. It's not just about the shift, you're right, but it's about CONTROL. Who has the control here: you as the IC, or the company??? That's what the IRS will determine.
