The 0.07 cpl was working for an MTSO as an IC. Good money can be made with 0.07 cpl and often times places hire at that price, and move up to 0.08 per line when they prove themselves. I hate when MT's discourage someone from at least TRYING it out with 0.07 cpl and seeing what happens. It could end up being the best gig they ever had and should at least TRY it. They can always quit if it doesn't pan out and pay for expenses. I think it's a huge mistake to tell someone to cut and run before trying it with the scarcity of jobs out there today. It's not like jobs are out there for the taking. Also, just because people are self-employed doesn't mean they have to secure all those payments like you suggested. Many people who work at office jobs don't even have those benefits (disability insurance, life insurance) so it depends on the person on whether or not they want to include those in their business expenses.
