your own accounts for that price per line? - OldsterMT Posted: Mar 4th, 2016 - 9:28 am In Reply to: Yes, you can do it... - MT
Are you even factoring in your expenses? All of your true business expenses? $20 an hour (gross) as a business, IMO, is not a good income.
So many people who are MTs do not actually truly calculate what they do as a business. That is why so many undercut their rates to such low prices per line. It's more like a hobby or working for extras, not working as a business.
Are you contributing to a retirement fund? Life insurance? Health insurance? Disability insurance? A slush fund for emergencies? Those pesky taxes (self-employment, both halves of the social security, Medicare, etc.)? Could you actually afford to pay a mortgage, buy food, pay utilities if you were the only provider in your household?
Anyone who "secures their own accounts" and in 2016 is only charging 7 cents a line, IMO, is not working as a true business.
Yes, I have owned a business and I know the actual expenses involved. I know what it's like to have wonderful dictators. It still costs money to be in business and to stay in business.
