It is like apples and oranges. The medical terminology background helps a ton but beyond that, it starting a whole new career. Research it thoroughly before you go into it or shadow someone in a hospital to see exactly what they do to see if you think you'd like it. I have to think MUCH harder at coding than I did in transcription as that came so easily to me and I could do it while making my grocery list, haha.
Good luck. This board can be very snarky but sometimes a nice, polite answer comes alone. You can try the search button on this board to look up previous responses and there is a lot of advice. Some good, some bad, a lot snarky but take it for what it is worth.
